Not sure about the diabetes, but I know he has had issues with Visas due to his past or criminal records. For 2019 Arnold Classic Brazil on his way he was arrested at the airport (france) and detained for like a week, this was due to Eric Favre's (his sponsor/coach) arrest for alleged steroid trafficking.
