Meat Grinder Suggestions

Does anyone have a good meat grinder they would recommend?

It seems all the meat grinders on Amazon have good reviews mixed with some really horrible reviews on almost all of them.

I'm looking to grind about 7-10lbs of meat per week for home use.

Top round beef is cheap with the highest protein and lowest fat per gram, but doesn't taste too good, even after marination. SO I plan to grind it into ground meat and eat it that way.

Any suggestions on a good affordable meat grinder for home use?

just sayin top round cut in 1 inch steaks, rare to medium rare is actually quite tender, you dont want to cook above medium rare though.

Also you can cut it into long thin strips, marinade then cook in oven at 190 200 f until it dries out into jerky.

as for a grinder, i use a blender at low speed about 1/4 to 1/2 pound at a time, after a few tried you get a feel for it, and find the best grind for you as well as how much to put in at a time (cube it first)

I too use a blender which sharp blades that could cut ice to flakes..using the speed control i could cut the meat up till pretty fine.

The old meat grinders that you have to crank your self would be the best bet.

meat grinders are awesome, just don't buy the waring pro version! thing is a piece of junk! how much are you looking to spend>?

Thanks for the info everyone

I did just get myself a good blender. I'll try that before spending on a meat grinder.

But as far as price limit goes.. not more than $100 bucks.

It's pretty much just to grind up top round.

Cheapest -easiest way for me to get in good quality red meat protein. $2 for 100g of lean steak protein here, and grinded up, it'd be really easy to eat.

I figure the savings on steak costs would pay off the meat grinder pretty fast.
