'Mega' dosing creatine by Alex Kikel

According to Alex Kikel, he is training every top athlete in the world, the NFL, Pro bodybuilders, responsible for training the top Olympic champions and getting their gold, etc. Not to mention curing most diseases known to man. He is so full of shit on most things.
My gen-pop gear using buddy who didn’t know better got baboozled into signing up for Kikel. He sent me the PDF. Kikel seems to be a professional bullshit artist/charlatan who never accomplished anything himself. Much of his stuff seemed to be pieced together from other coaches like Scott Stevenson, Dante, and more.

Kikel also seems to have a touch of the ‘tism.

I took 20 or even 30g a day and didn't notice any difference compared to 5g
Yes ^^^
When creatine mono came our in the 90's it was like sand. Studies immediately followed because the supplement companies were pushing 30 grams a day to up sales and the studies showed no difference in 5 vs 30 over time.

I remember back when creatine first came out mid 90's. I tried them all, muscletech creatine es 5000, EAS phosphagen, etc etc. They all said to load 25g a day broken up over 5 servings of 5 g. Then continue on 5-10g a day after loading phase. Said to take with grape juice. Didn't do shiznit for me. I figured I was a non responder bcoz you'd hear of some folks getting great results, others not so much. Then later on in I believe early 2000's, muscletech came out with cell tech. One scoop was 5g creatine mono, 38g dextrose and 100mg alpha lipoic acid. Said to take 2 scoops a day. So I did - 2 scoops post w.o. Three weeks in and still didn't see any results. But I stuck with it. Middle of 4th week that shiznit hit me like drol lol. The scale started going up and setting PR's bigtime every workout. I was natty at the time, and I still remember my lift that increased the most was bb p.b.n. I literally doubled the reps - went from 225 x 7 to 225 x 14 over the next 5 weeks. I was like Holyyyy sheeeiittt!lol

Apparently there was something synergistic with that ALA in there. Or perhaps coulda been the 76g of dextrose. Or both. I dunno. But man that is the only creatine that worked for me out of myriads I had tried, and it worked fantastic. In hindsite, I coulda saved a ton of $ buying creatine mono, dextrose and ala caps separately bcoz celltech wasn't cheap, and most of it by far was dextrose.

One weird thing about the stuff was I had 2 episodes at work where I went hypo. Hell back then I didn't even know what hypo meant haha. Never had a feeling like that before or since, even when experimenting with slin 10 years later. On days I didn't work out, I'd take it at work. I remember the first time it happened, I took it on lunch break. About 20 mins later, I suddenly broke out in cold, profuse sweat, hands started shaking, felt dizzy and couldn't think straight. Didn't know wtf was happening! I just sat down and drank a bunch of water. It wore off after about 3 mins. I'm guessing the 76g dextrose spiked my blood levels and when it wore off, my bg took a nose dive is all I can think of.

Anyways, sorry for the rambling haha. :p

He's certainly been "touched"...

I remember listening to a podcast years ago with Shawn Phillips where he talked about how the "creatine-loading" was just some BS that their (EAS') marketing came up with, to sell more Phosphagen.

It's the same scam as companies selling all of these "specialized" creatine, claiming that they are somehow better than plain old monohydrate.

Yea, he is just regurgitating the wheel that has already turned a long time ago back in the 90's (as mentioned above) and early 2000's. The "back in our day" crowd gets a point here, as we already did all this:)

With creatine, it's either load quickly with higher doses starting out, or just use lower doses to eventually saturate the cells with just a bit longer time. At the end, once saturation occurs, it's all the same. Back in the 90's it was like 20-30 grams for the first 5-7 days, then drop back to maintenance. Nothing wrong with it, but 3-8 grams eventually gets there as well with a bit more time.

Creatine is a useful supplement but there is no need to take massive amounts. I have experimented with it over the years because every company told you to load it in from day 1 back in the day. Even coaches such as Milos use creatine during their carb loading and very high amounts. He was experimenting with that in the 90's himself. If you want to try it go for it but move up gradually. Loading 25g+ creatine in from day 1 will give many a bad stomach and that's about it. Creatine will help fill you with water so it does maker you stronger but again there is no need to take excessive amounts. Start at 5g and move up to 10g. I don't see the need in taking more than 15g per day but see for yourself.

When I was 13 I thought Bill Phillips was the shit lol

Oh boy upping my Creatine dosage from 10-20g mr Olympia here I come!

Honestly….meh like will it make a difference probs not is it just people making content for contents sake? Probs
I am on 1 1/2 gram per day and feel the same as taking 5g.

That guy puts up a reel almost every day of megadosing this supplement or megadosing that supplement, and all these benefits that he’s observed empirically… results I’ve never seen mentioned elsewhere. I suppose he’s the present-day god of original thought…
Yet, if you try to engage him in any kind of conversation or even ask a question, he completely ignores it. I have zero time for this guy. And was somebody tell him, for the love of God, clear your throat before you start recording. Dude sounds like he’s trying to gargle-talk through 15 pounds of phlegm!
Next week it will be how he invented the color blue

I mean, go try it, i doubt anyone will notice anything positive.
Creatine is just the new new hot supp. We've all know creatine from as far back as the 90s but when my mom asks about, its made its way into mainstream. Especially for cognitive ability and aging populations i guess.

Kikel is bad though. I feel like EVERYONE IN THE WORLD agrees that the best coach/teacher can distill the most confusiiiing information and present it to you in layman's terms to understand. Kikel makes 0 attempt to do that and thinks that talking like a molecular biologist and researcher gives him and aura of superiority. It doesn't at all. He looks purposefully confusing and he looks like hes trying too hard.
Even then, go look at his actuallll posts. He'll talk about some new protocol he had for reversing heart failure, male pattern baldness, growing 2 inches....then tell us he's helped X number of clients with it...and then its crickets. Like 3 comments. Ive NEVER SEEN a past client vouch for him. "Tons of professional athletes and MMA fighters," bro if you were that elite, you would be a lot bigger than you are...name, recognition and $$$ wise. The field your playing in is nottt a "secret coach" one...people waant these solutions and will pay big.
Aside from that, ive heard a couple horror stories about him prepping people...all first hand. Would never listen to this guy.

Dave Crosland has all his clients do 20 a day. I do 15 on training days 10 on non.

Always someone trying to re invent the wheel 🙄

You also have to keep in mind, the average bodybuilder eating several hundred grams of protein per day of meat is already getting quite a bit of creatine. If your adding in 5 grams of extra creatine a day, I really doubt that bumping it up to 20 is gonna do anything other than upset your stomach

I DO think 5g+ of creatine and perhaps even up to 20g could be very beneficial..especially with the research that has come out over the years about heart, brain, and skeletal health. The findings in the older adult population regarding muscle and cognition are pretty amazing.

If you can tolerate 10-20g of creatine a day, I would do it for moderate to long runs. You potentially only have things to gain from it.

I personally notice zero positive effects of creatine when I’m on gear

Hate to say it but I have to agree there are supplements that “do not work” when you are on gear simply because the gear totally out performs the supplement

Creatine, beta alanine, arginine, etc whatever I feel nothing from OTC BB’ing supps

Gear, train, food. Period.

There’s no way being on gear “makes creatine not work”. It’s a cellular volumizer. You’re not gonna notice immediate effects. And if you’re juicing of course it’s gonna make it harder to notice. But it’s definitely still doing what it does.
But what exactly are you expecting to “feel”?
I can’t “feel” electrolytes hydrating me, but they’re definitely doing it

I think you should probably read up on creatine if you care to educate yourself on what it can do for you.

Supplements (especially the most EFFECTIVE and most studied supplement ever created) don't just 'not work' when you abuse AAS.
