Megace, appetite stimulant

Has any of you bros used a rx drug called megace. Megestrol acetate? It's used as a successful appetitive enhancement drug with low sides from what I read. It's been difficult for me to eat a lot mainly because I don't crave food like I used too. I force feed myself and quite frankly, it sucks. I know it's successful with aids patients but how about us people trying to bulk? And if so, are there sponsors that carry this stuff with out having to go to the doc for a prescription? I doubt they will prescribe me that stuff:headbang:

It used to be used for HIV/AIDs patients it said to cause lipodystrophy though ( fat gain in unusal areas) at least from what I read on it.

It's also used with some cancer patients as well.

I did a search on "megace for appetite stimulation in healthy individuals". A post on bb.com from 4-09-2009 regarding the same issue came up...An individual with the screen name "haynstyle" had this to say:

"Not a good idea. I have a doctorate in pharmacy and definitely would not recommend using Megace to stimulate weight gain in a healthy individual. In addition to being used as an appetite stimulant, it is also used to treat breast and endometrial carcinoma. Since it is an antineoplastic progestin that acts through an antileutenizing effect which is regulated by the pituitary, chronic use may suppress the HPA axis (BAD).

P.S. It has also been linked to new-onset diabetes".

B12 has never helped my appetite. After further research on megace , it is not an option I would take. However I did discover a rx allergy drug called periactin...any of u bros have any experience with this?

I use to take periactin (cyproheptadine) for several years while I played basketball. It definately works wonders for the appetite, but will make you very sleepy when you start taking it, but you will adjust, if you keep taking it. I've tried Synthelamin at 1CC/per day and it did nothing for me, also I've tired Engorge and it did nothing as well. Periactin, has been the only thing that has worked for me. I say give it a try, it will work. rt...

That's strange you would have to be one of the very few people who did not respond to Synthelamin.

Works wonders for me. I would be curious to see what you find that works for you.

Cancer drug in higher dose, but not used much for that anymore, appetite stimulant at lower dose around 40 mg. Basically saved my Mom's life. My advise is don't fuk with it. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but some of you guys will just take anything.
