I take 1 20mg adderall XR with breakfast and I am GOOD TO GO pretty much all day...on workout days I have a little coffee 2 hours before

I took dexedrine (almost the same as adderall) for years off and on. I also took modafinil or adrafinil for years off and on, not at the same time. Quitting modafinil seems an order of magnitude easier than quitting dexedrine. Adderall and dexedrine are also highly abusable by some people. Taking more feels good, so people start craving that feeling. I've known people who use up their whole month's adderall prescription in 3 or 4 days. I haven't heard of anyone abusing modafinil that way. Taking more modafinil just lets you stay up longer. It doesn't get you high.

When I was using stims, I actually preferred adrafinil over modafinil. Adrafinil wears off faster, so it didn't interfere with my sleep as much. I didn't really like armodafinil (Nuvigil), the newer one, since it lasted too long. It made it difficult to get to sleep before midnight even if I took it at 5 am.

i take a 200mg pill of modaf maybe once every week or two. This is depending on my energy levels and my workload.
Mostly only use it when i NEED a great day of at work and shit needs to get done.

VERY different than adderall or any stim-type drug. And 200mg isn't a lot. I find that to be the common dosage for most men. Women I've seen stick with 100mg. I remember Skip saying his wife diets on 100mg and loves it.
But modaf is a good mood kick and get things done. Its not jittery or cracky like adderall can make me feel. Even then ill take a preWO with my modaf lol.

Modaf is also one hell of an appetite suppressant at that dose. Kratom is by far the best app supp but modaf is in 2nd place. Also, ill take a 200mg pill at 8am...any later and it'll fuck your sleep up. At least for me.,

haha ya I had a buddy in medical school who was using 150-200mg a day.... hes off it now but damn lol

Ya the addy IR definitely get high if you take too much...I hate that feeling of being so UP... the XR is perfect w/ a steady release of energy/motivation/ability to focus

My prescription was for 30 mg/day extended release dexedrine. It was great for focus and concentration as a software engineer when I had to work long hours. Later on I was able to get a similar benefit from 15 mg/day. I got tired of the side effects, though. A lot of things in my life improved after quitting. Just not work productivity.

A buddy of mine has been on adderall for something like 15 years. He's tried to quit dozens of times, but he keeps going back to it. It can be really hard to quit for some people even if they don't abuse it.

Shaky hands, occasional ED, plus dependence obviously. There was no way to just relax and unwind on the weekend. I could take dexedrine and feel stimulated, or I could skip it and pretty much stay in bed all day. I ended up quitting when I was getting back into dating after a break. The shaky hands made me look like I was nervous on first dates when it was really just the stimulant. Plus I'd have to take viagra and try to time it right to avoid embarrassing myself if the date was going well.

A number of my friends who went into med school and later completed a residency program relied on adderall to keep them focused and overcome the burnout of lack of sleep and huge levels of stress. They say it makes a huge difference in cognitive performance and focus, especially when you are exhausted from lack of sleep.
