Mentally approaching a break from training

Hey all...im new here.

What do all you bros do here when you need time off training...i dont mean a break which you plan...i mean an unplanned break...as a result of health.

I have had a hard time of it in the past 7-8 months...i was dieting for a photoshoot and i have been pushing too hard with the diet and i have ended up with health problems and a few kidneys issues.

The doctors feel that having restricted my calorie intake too much over the duration of 2010...it has made my body a bit weaker...CNS a little tired...i generally feel exhausted...cold...weak in the gym...etc...

The doctor is continuing to do blood tests...the last set showed kidney problems...thyroid low...testosterone low...and low white blood cell count...and very high urea levels.

He has said i need a complete break from training and to actually eat more calories than i have been doing...so how do i go about this in a mental sense? I have never had more than 1 week off training since i started training 4-5 years ago...

The docs say he would like me to have a 4-5 week rest from training...and i also need to increase my calorie intake...i know i may put on some lbs...i am quite ripped at the moment...so this shouldnt be a problem...and i know my health is more important.

I havent had any cheat food in about 9 months and i havent had more than 1 week off training since i started training.

How would you bros approach this and get your head around the fact you do need to relax and have time off and listen to doctor/and listen to your body?

4-5 week is to much, you are not recovering from a surgery. 1 week rest is OK. Kip you diet in balance with extra calories. Don`t ower train, if you can ,take a 1 hour nap during the day, the nap will help to lower your cortisol, you adrenal gland it has been over stressed. Take some Humanofort, Humanofort it helps kidney functin also. Take some Iodine supplement for you thyroid.

You will be very happy with the results.

No disrespect to emeric delczeg - but if your doc has told you to take 4-5 weeks from training - he has seen you - he has run the blood tests - HE IS THE DOCTOR - LISTEN TO HIM.

4-5 weeks off in the duration of 4-5 years is no big deal - just HAVE THE TIME OFF, RELAX, EAT UP, REST, FOCUS ON SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Your doc knows best - listen to him and get better soon!

personally i would take 2 weeks off from weights and keep up with your cardio. But listening to the Doc might also be a good idea. I was in a similiar situation as you, my test was incredible low for my age, my WBC were incredibly low to the point I had a bone marrow biopsy. I started eating more and doing a little less cardio and everything seems to be better now.

You need to see a sport Dr. regarding how much rest you should take from training, if training is your life style then 5 week rest with out any sport activity can make you fill depress.
 
do as your doc said and work on going to see a specialist if you havent already.

Your kidneys are EVERYTHING! if you lose them you wont have to worry about rest time from training because you will be dead.

Sorry to be blunt but you are a man and there is no sense in sugar coating this.

Your organs are important so do what you need to do in order to stay alive!

Been to see a specialist this morning - his outcome was the same as the doctor - complete rest - only light cardio like walking the dog - for the next 4-6 weeks - and after that will depend on blood tests.

Took some pictures with me of various condition/size of my physique over the past 12 months since i started to diet to where i am now - and i have been told to eat - and it is no surprise that i am feeling very tired and exhausted - and have skewed blood test results.

You are over exhausted mentaly and physically, you may have high muscle cholinesterase also. Eat more and sleep more.
