Metformin + berberberine = why not both?

Give it a few years and it will be common knowledge that the other diabetes drug, Acarbose, is far superior to Metformin for increasing lifespan.

Because my trt doctor recommended it because my cholesterol was shit..she told me that the patients that she had that took them both concurrently had a signing drop..I tried it..it worked big time and I never stopped

I mean, the glucose disposal is also significant..but yeah, it was an experiment to drop cholesterol..so, it does a lot of things that I’m grateful for

All of my cholesterol numbers improved drastically..I thought they were just trying to sale me metformin and berberin..but it worked for me

Metformin 500-1000 nightly depending on blood work

And 600mg berberin am and again pm..we’ve played with that number a bit but found this dosage to work best for me

I really like berberine. I even use it on keto. Slows glycogenlysis helps lipids and reduces TMAO levels.

That's awesome! There seem to be a number of methods available to lower total but raising HDL seems like quite the trick.

I have NOT been brand specific at all..the last 2 bottles I have ran have been this

I take 4400mgs of fish oil daily too.

2 pills in the morning and 2 at night

The drop happened before the big dose of fish oil though

recently ran out of metformin and said screw it im going to go berberine route off amazon for a little stretch. I have never taken it before. Im kind of mind blown at the difference. I havent done any fasted readings but just going by feel. Taking berberine a couple times a day with carb meals and i feel completely different throughout the day. Im never tired post eating ever now. I never had any problems with met at all but im really digging how i feel post meal through out the day on 500 carbs.

I have used metformin for a few years now. Last year i stopped met to see what berberine would do. Gave it a few week wash out period. Then start berberine. And a few weeks later my fasting numbers were up 10-15 points. So back to met for me. may try both to see what happens.
