Metformin users.

I've posted everything I can, explained it a million times, guys like MD have also said the same. If you have even a normal amount of test in your body you won't see the effects of it slowing down your progress at all. It's literally one off the best things you can be on. The second that big pharm gets an indication to script it for anti ageing ( and there is a study that just got funding to do just that then) it will be more popular then Viagra in at its peak.

I agree, Ive been taking it for two years now.

For any of you worried about IGF, my IGF was tested at 302 while on TRT and 1500mg Metformin. No HGH at the time

That's a really good IGF for just TRT (<200MG) and no peptides or GH. You're lucky. My IGF aren't always as high as they could be even when I was taking 3iu of pharma Norditropin. Some people just don't covert as high.

Good seeing the general consensus in favor of metformin. It's been a staple for me and I think almost anyone can benefit from it (especially using gh longterm). The risk of adverse effects is very low on my opinion. Lactic acidosis is rare.

If you already choose to take BP medication, I can't harp enough on Telmisartan as well. It works and has longevity and performance enhancing and body comp. properties.

Yea I found it strange it was so high too. I was using GW/cardarine but I haven't seen any evidence that raises IGF.

Two years ago, same IGF score on just TRT and I was on BPC157, but again no evidence that increases IGF either to my knowledge.

^I'm almost 31 years old btw

Metformin, Telmisartan, and Cialis are the three prescription drugs I take every day year round (well TRT too). They've shown to be pretty darn safe with reasonable usage.

Well, I have a LOT of it on hand in case!

Because every one and their dog was prescribed metformin on the Rez where I worked....people just gave me bottles of it once I started reading about it here!
I asked the secretary if she had ever tried it and she said yes...and gave me 4 big bottles of it. Lol.
I just want to be careful and make sure I am not a dumbass.

I take Lisinopril, what the advantage of swapping it for Telmisartan?
Thanks

Forgive me for not giving a detailed answer as I've spoken about this a lot on here, but if you google "life extension telmisartan" and "telmisartan meso-rx", you will find very detailed articles explaining the benefits.

Telmisartan could potentially confer beneficial metabolic effects. It may regulate glucose and lipid metabolism, as well as anti-inflammatory responses. There is not enough date data to say it does this without side effects. Telmisartan is an ARB and belongs to the class of organic compounds known as biphenyls and derivatives. These are organic compounds containing benzene rings. Benzene rings have been to known to cause cancer. Do you lower someone's blood pressure, which can kill them sooner, knowing it will cause cancer? This drug has a Pregnancy Category D Positive evidence of risk. It this drug was put in water, as previously mentioned, no pregnant woman would be able to drink the water. Remember, just because a drug does one good thing doesn't mean it doesn't do 10 bad things. People sometimes get fixatated on the one good thing and ignore all the possibilities of all the bad. Knowing this, if blood pressure is a condition that needs to be treated in you, you have to carefully weigh the benefits with the risks.

So preggos shouldn't take Telmisartan, what's your point. I don't understand the basis of throwing that in. Pregnant women shouldn't touch or come in contact with minoxidil either. What's it matter?

So you're sayin' that I need to keep my pregnant wife from drinking out of the toilet?

Problem is, I don't think that my local water treatment facility does a good job, so all my telmisartan must really be messin with the pregnant ladies all over town.

I guess that this is a public service announcement to remind all citizens that they must filter their water. Or pregnant women should not drink.

I relayed a story where a nephrologist I know who teaches nephrology at LSU med school mentioned in jest during a lecture that we should add ARBs (not Micardis specifically and this was many years ago) to the drinking water to belie a point. The sheer amount of deaths, stroke, MI, renal failure seen in the deep south charity hospital system secondary to untreated hypertension is astounding. The white Billy then felt the need to explain the pregnancy category of the drug as if a physician would actually add a drug to the drinking water. It was a joke white Billy no one is actually going to do it. He then goes on to explain that we should evaluate the cost to benefit ratio of using a drug before we decide to take it. I'm glad the white Billy told us. Here we are all these years just taking shit with no concern for the downside. Thanks white Billy! 😉

Rex.

You make it sound like its vitamins and everyone should just take it for longevity or something. It's completely different than metformin regarding risk. You can personally insult me all you want but you can't dispute science. It was no joke when the author mentioned it should be in drinking water. That's how highly he thought of it. You want to take it for your high blood pressure, go ahead. But don't espouse its benefits like its some holy grail based on one article you read in favor of it then get mad at me because I point out its risks which obviously you took personally by getting so butt hurt.

Metformin's antiaging effects work via activation of AMPK. Not sure if anyone mentioned, but pterostilbene and resveratrol both also activate AMPK.

So if metformin isn't an option why not use pterostilbene and resveratrol.

I rarely post what I personally take but I do somewhat regularly take metformin. I normally only take 500-1000mg daily and its probably only 5x a week. Its very cheap and i just pick it up at walmart out of pocket.

It has helped keep some fat off and has enough science to back it up that i take it.

Someone above mention ARB's. If you are on cycle you should be taking an ARB. I feel quite strongly about that. You can get by with an ACEi but ARBs are much better tolerated by most.

take metformin can shouldn't empty stomach, that will cause some side effects like vomit or feel sick

You pick up metformin at walmart out of pocket? No prescription? How much do you pay?
