meth/ cocaine addiction??

anyone else here was addicted to cocaine or meth. how did u come out and how long did it take? wehre are u now?

never tried any of that shit for the fear of getting hooked. I have seen to many lives ruined. Best thing I have seen is a complete change in environment and better friends. Good Luck

i was addicted to cocaine and heroin. i was put into a residential rehab for a yr and a half (when i was 14 they dont keep anyone this long anymore) and i havent touched it since i got out. now im an extremely productive member of society (believe it or not) most people that knew me then didnt think i would live to see my 18th bday and im 31 now

been there too.it wasn't pretty.i started using heavily(herion,coke)around 22-23 and for nearly 20 yrs i've battled this disease,getting clean for a while then trying the waters again only to find it just don't work.i just came up on 6mnths clean and sober last week.it's not easy but it can be done.i just went back to work full time and will be back into the gym very soon and hopefully start a cycle by the end of the summer.my last one was in aug of 07 and i was in the best shape of my life.now at 41yrs old i know i have a battle ahead of me.make meetings,whether NA or AA,they will help if you let it.

great job hitting the 6 month mark! the first yr or so is the hardest but it really does get easier. you can do this just keep pushing

done coke yes. wouldent call it hooked i could have 2 or 3 ounces in a ziploc and be fine with not having any.

but havnot touched any, not even a crumb in like 6yrs i could care less about it.
sad when people dont have self control.

some would crack and spend there last doller on that crap thank god i am not like that.id have boulders laying around "in my stupid years not anymore i smartened up" and not do it.

20yrs coke free, i was a crack head. Best way to describe is was Divine intervention, i saw i was at the crossroads late one night, was literally terrified, and got into outpatient treatment, one slip early on, been clean since. Evidently i didn't learn much about my addictive personality, working on 5 months sobriety from alcohol, AA mtgs most every night, urge to drink is gone, working the steps hard. Life is good clean and sober

My advice is get some help, it's hard to do solo, the brain of an addict will justify getting high, it's a bio-chemical issue that's hard to overcome w/out professional support and guidance, or detox / rehab.

i shot up meth for 9yrs and in and out of jail... i got clean and got fat as hell so i started doing bodybuilding and done a couple of cycles and i love my life today i have over 3yrs clean off meth going on to 2yrs at the same job and life is good today.....

i went to a 6 month 12 step based rehab.havent touched coke since. i have been going on 14 months clean.

AA/NA works if you work it..dont surround yourself with the same people find new ones and move on.

I am sitting here reading all these posts and thinking about my NA meeting attendance in recent times and realize that i probably should recommit to making at least one meeting a week. I have barely been making it once every two weeks and am getting just a bit to comfortable in my sobriety.

Pride comes before the fall they say and i do not want to experience the fall.

Great posts guys, it has gotten me remotivated to get back into my meetings on a more frequent basis.

Im an addict. Alot of help from god and meetings is what helped me overcome. Gotta be willing to follow directions. Seems boring at first but you just have to give it a chance if you want out of that life. Meet sober people that are doing the same as you. It works. As far as steriod addiction goes, they are to totaly diffrrent monsters. Never had to rob, cheat or steal to get steriods. Prioritys and responseabilitys never went out the window with steriods. I guess it could for some but it hasent been my experience.

There's a BIG difference b/t using AAS and using RECS. Recs will make you not care if you fuck society. AAS just simply won't. Recs need alcohol (99.9% of the time) and will def cause you to be broke and harmed. AAS don't need alcohol EVER, and when used w/ care and planning will leave you healthier and focused on bettering yourself. Please don't try to equate the two.

PS. Some may have problems w/ AAS, but I would say "prove it" to those who say AAS ..ALONE.. caused society problems. IE. Tri-cyclic's are 10x worse.

we make choices in life........i am not addicted to steroids though i do take them. I AM addicted to leading the bodybuilding lifestyle. I have my drug of choice and it allows me to live successfully in our society. BODYBUILDING=_0
