Microsoft Outlook Express Issues????

I can't open up Microsoft Outlook.... We lost power and since then outlook won't open. When you click on the mailbox "Outlook express could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be loaded" comes up. I have deleted microsoft office and outlook and reloaded it. I have also scanned the system for any errors and everything is fine. I can't figure out what else to do. Does anyone have any ideas???? Thanks!!

Well, K1 you are talking about 2 different products. There's Outlook Express and Outlook. The Express version comes with Windows, whereas the full Outlook comes with Office. Either way do the following first.

Start/Run cmd

Once in a cmd prompt type the following:

chkdsk /r

It will say the volume is locked and ask you if you want to run chkdsk on the next reboot. Type "Y" and hit enter, then reboot.

Try Outlook or Outlook Express once the operating system comes back up. Let me know how it turns out.

Try running a search on *.dbx files. make sure you are searching hidden files aswell. Once that is complete right click and select properties. make sure READ ONLY is not checked... select apply and try to open OE again.

Thanks bro. My lovely lady posted this question up to you the other day, and she much appreciates the help that you have given prior to this question and any further help that you can give. I'm very computer illiterate, so her explaining to me about this not working either, confuses my stupid ass. So, I when I get home from work today (at some point), I will have her post up what the problem may be. Thanks again bro..........
