Most of these were released last week. If you have any questions or commments on any of these products, feel free to post.
1. Windows Vista RTM (Release To Manufacturing like Dell, HP, etc) Will release to VLK (Volume License Key) the end of this month and to the general public January 07.
2. Sharepoint Portal Server 3.0 - Major improvements including a dual phase recycle bin
3. Exchange Server 2007 (This only supports 64 bit) - Major imrovements with native cell phone support to make any cell phone behave like a PDA, like recieving email, Exchange calendar synchronization, etc. Now runs on a SQL 2005 back end database.
4. Office 2007 - Amazing integration with all three of the above.
I also must mention that Microsoft is looking to integrate all of their messenging/data deposit technologies together into one which means sooner or later Sharepoint Portal & Exchange will be essentially one product.
What this means for people who want to get into IT? Learn SQL Server 2005 management/administration and you'll never be without work. It will be the background for everything Microsoft comes out with as far as a server product from now on. Also Miicrosoft Active directory is moving to SQL in the future and dropping it's current Jet database engine.
