On the next episode of Blue Collar Muscle Radio we'll be talking to Mike Francois. Mike won many shows in the mid 90s, including the Night of Champions in 1994, and the Arnold Classic in 1995. If you have any questions / topics you'd like to see discussed, please post them here.

mike came from a deeply rooted religious background and at one point was planning on becoming a catholic preist, what kind of moral and ethical conflicts did he deal with when he decided to pursue bodybuilding instead. from things i've heard of mike he had an unparralleled work ethic and kinda of an introvert. i was kid in high school around time started winning pro shows and he was always my favorite bodybuilder, a career cut way to short

great back, erectors were just ridiculous

Mike had muscle density that was hard to beat! Those legs are incredible.

Definitely would like to hear what he has to say in reference to what Über stated.. Francois was one of my all time favorites and he seemed like a genuinely good guy...

Mike and Dennis Newman were two of my favs of that time I was lucky enough to see him guest pose when i was stationed in Hawaii, he was massive. Years later i met his parents here in my home town they were just the nicest down home people you could ever meet.

Bad ass physique. One of my favs as well.

Didnt he get colitis or some thing like that?

Love the shape of his legs.

I'd like to hear what kind of weights he used on a regular basis on the basic lifts...since he was known for his strength in the powerlifts...

Shame his career in bodybuilding got cut short,i think he had part of his intestine out?

Shelby, sorry random question warning... have you thought about converting these audio episodes into a text format? I'm very visual in my learning style that's all.

Just an idea and no idea how easy it would be for you guys to do such a thing??

does he still train? how have his joints held up over the years after? like to here the story of the photo shoot he did with dorian and his thoughts on dorian and the other guys of his era.

When I think of Mike Francois I think of him doing a barbell row next to Dorian. I would be interested to hear about his take on Dorian too. I also think it would be interesting to hear how he mentally felt when he became ill. I remember reading that he had a basketball size blood clot taken from his intestines. How did he mentally transition from being a beast to an average person?

I met him a few months ago in Columbus. He's a personal trainer there.

In emailing him his real problem was his surgery for colitis...effects your digestion and quality of life. In good shape but "small".

What does he attribute his effectors to? Dead lifts?
