Minor setback

well if its a muscle on muscle tear.....and you get it fixed....its
AT LEAST 12 weeks in a sling.....cant do nothing for 6 months...

if its a tendon release.....you will be in a sling for 6 weeks, and can start
training again light in 6 weeks....

the doc told me....."its like sewing flank steak to flank steak"....as
mine was a muscle tear, not a tendon tear....so the muscle stays
permanently damaged....even after repair.

with tendon tear, the muscle stays intact...not damaged....and just needs
to be pulled back up somewhere in the arm pit wherever the tendon pulled
from...

I hope its the easier one for you......but it doesn't look like...:(

I DID NOT get mine fixed.....as with muscle to muscle tears have a 50%
chance of busting again before it healed....and I needed to work at that
time.....and needed both of my arms......

now its just about a 2inch divot in my right pec.....flexing you can see it more
the leaner you get you see it more.....my right pec is smaller....
strength is about the same....but not the same in my head....in my head I
always worry that my left one is gonna go....

now also, the right delt is bigger than my left (noticeable) from compensating
for the pec......

average people don't ever notice it unless I point it out to them....

creter YOURS doesn't look as bad as mine.....but looks like a muscle tear
not a tendon rupture......usually with that much blood its the muscle....iv
seen tendon ruptures with no bleeding at all...

hope this helps...

this was mine after 48 hours.

I felt the same exact sensation doing smith incline. Was fine after a few days but..

Needless to say, I stopped doing barbell after that

I stopped doing all barbell presses because several times I've felt a burn or twinge when pressing heavy and figured it was only a matter of time before something turned loose.

I partially tore/detached my bicep in November , orthopedic told me he could put a few wires in it but my best bet was just to rehab it. I'm slightly weaker with that arm I dumbbell curls but the visible difference is major

this is 3 years later....(about 5 years ago)

semi flexed.

Concreted-

I tore my right biceps tendon off the radius. It sucked and it happened when I was a bouncer, 25, looking great, had a silver Camaro, girls loved me...then I had to quit work at the bar, get surgery, couldn't make car payments and went from looking awesome to looking crappy. I was so pissed that I shaved my head, avoided the gym and sat in my dormitory room and studied all the time. You learn a lot about who your friends are when you go from looking great and being able to beat everyone up to looking like shit and being hurt.
Hopefully it won't be as emotionally devastating as it was for me at that age.
You have a great attitude about it.

Luckily the surgery went great and I stopped feeling sorry for myself. I won both bodybuilding and power lifting meets after the injury (because I am a hardheaded fucker like you) hahahaha...

Now at 52 I have to be so careful all the time that it pisses me off. I get hurt for no damn reason. I WANT to train heavy. I just get hurt when I do. Shit changes. I have been trying to ignore it, but it keeps happening, so I CANNOT ignore it anymore. I just want to be able to lift at this point.
Be smart man! Everything I do feels like pink dumbells:)

I believe it is a muscle tear not a tendon.
I felt fibres disconnecting and rolling back.
I have a small like golf ball size ball of tissue near my armpit but closer to the tricep.
if it was a tendon tear I would think you would see it in the chest instantly.

the blood is baddddd. pooling into my forearm back and gut..
I hope to get back to atleast doing supper light curls pressdowns and delt extensions in a 2-3 weeks ?????
and maybe some body weight presses of the wall..
just want to keep up blood flow to help maintain and limit losses..

Luckily, you aren't a fat fuck.

Once that swelling goes down (which will take a while) you are lean enough to see what is going on. I didn't have the bruising when I tore my tendon as bad as you do, so I think you might be correct about it being a muscle tear or a combination of a partial tendon tear.
Either way....I can totally relate with your desire to minimize muscle loss. I tell you what I did...I went in and did one arm shit. One arm cable flys, curls, triceps, delts. Then legs, abs, calves on the other days. If I hadn't have done that, I would have lost my fucking mind. Some people saw me doing that with my cast on my arm and the sling and said shit like...you are going to have one big arm or one big delt, etc, etc. I just thought...it is hard enough putting muscle on and I know the body tries to have bilateral symmetry...so I am going to do what I think is best! (Those people still looked like shit and still do, but they like to give their opinions)
I doubt you are going to stay out of the gym. But if I were you, I would find stuff to do that does NOT CAUSE FURTHER harm. It just makes the whole thing take longer to heal. You will still look beastial. Get freaky on those other parts while that pec heals.

Everyone who posts in this thread shall be cursed and will suffer a muscle tear injury within 2 months. The only way to break the concreter curse is to fuck a kleenex box on a full moon.

Godspeed.

I pulled my groin in the shower this morning....does that count? Am I still cursed???

Damn brother that sucks. Its for exactly this reason I don't do any flat barbell pressing(I always elevate the head of the bench at least with 25 pounds plates) and I never barbell press first in my routine. Its usually second or third.

My knee is pretty bad right now, getting it checked

hopefully nothing serious

Concreter:

The orthopedist prescribed PennsAID for me which is applied topically to help with the inflammation. It is diclofenac.

I have seen it used on knees but this guy swears by it for my shoulder. I apply it twice a day. He basically said keep doing it until surgery. Maybe just the act of rubbing it in helps break up the blood mass seen on the MRI.

I have to admit I read this as PenisAID and thought Concreter is not having a good time right now :D

ha, it took a couple of days but libido is up and runnin.
not much else to look forward to right now.
luckily my nurse did not marry me for my looks or physic.

mri today...I am at 268lbs dieting...must be all this blood..lol
my gut feels like a water balloon...not good.

I believe it is a muscle tear not a tendon.

PLEASE get it checked... ASAP!

The exact same thing happened to a friend of mine years ago, and like you he thought the pain would go away and the whole area would heal on itself after a few weeks... long story short, seeing no real improvement after about 1.5 month, he finally made up his mind and took an appointment with a surgeon... meets him two weeks later.... surgery was planned FOR THE NEXT DAY!!!

Surgeon's words: "had you come see me only one week later, surgery would have been pointless and you'd have NEVER recovered even partial use of your chest/biceps muscles"... :(

MRI showed his left pec was as damaged as if it had been razor cut right in the middle...

Took about 6 months for my buddy to heal properly after the surgery, and though you can notice a slight scar/change in the shape of his pec, it's really minor and at least now he CAN train... which wouldn't have been the case hadn't he made the right choice, ie consult a physician.

So, sorry for repeating myself, and yours might just be not too serious, but to avoid any potential psycholigical disaster in the future caused by not being able to train anymore, go get this injury checked... again ASAP! :)

EDIT: hadn't red your last post before writing mine... glad to hear you'll be having that MRI today... right decision for sure. ;)

being physical is my livelihood as well
concreting is a full body sport using all muscles in a multitude of variations and intensities.

to tell the truth I am a little worried as any surgery or major damage could change my entire life...

I believe it took me 4 weeks before I could raise my arm
above my head....

I missed ZERO work....but only used one arm for about a week....
I missed ZERO training too.....I was able to pull for back (not over head)
do bis...and I did legs 3x a week....no pressing for about 6 weeks,
then I started machines....very light....

I believe a surgery would have you shacked up for most
of the spring into the summer....

I'm able to lift my arm to parallel before the pain and stretch in my armpit set in and can touch my mouth for the 1st time since.
still cant poke my but cheek as I don't want to go to low on dosages.
planning on 750 test, 200 tren and 500 primo. ??? 8cc's total.
plus 3 x3 hgh and 40 mcgs lr3 for 3-4 weeks.

that seems decent....and sane....

I honestly think you'll be fine.....everyday gets better and better

I'm assuming you are thinking NOT getting surgery...????

what MRI say..??

Damn BIG GUY!...... didn't see this... SHIT!..... get better brother!!!
