What you have to remember is that it wasn't a case on steroids but on lying to congress under oath. I don't think congress gives a crap about whether or not he did steroids, but more so about not accepting the fact that he may have lied to their face and waved his finger while doing it...

I agree with you-and i am aware of what he is on trial for as indicated in my post. The govt has singled Clemens out along with Bonds for these ridiculous charges. What about Palmiero-who testified the same as everyone else but tested positive right after. At the end of the day no one really cares what these guys do-which is why im amazed at what lengths the govt will go to prove a point. Im just saying that our taxpayer money could be better spent other things. BTW the is the second perjury trial that arose from AAS usage testimony that has netted a zero result for the feds.

It pisses me off to see people with influence and $ trot out of federal court like it's no sweat. Friends off mine have paid dearly and fought for their lives in federal court over nothingness.

Clemons' atty is Rusty Hardin
very well respected white collar criminal defense atty from Houston
I dont know him but have a good friend who does
Clemons has had Hardin on retainer for several years now

I dont even know why someone would put themselves in that situation like Clemens did.
Why take it to congress and testify under oath? All he had to say is no comment and pass.
