Morpheus Training System - HRV etc etc

What's the cliff notes on HRV? I'll give it a look/listen when I get some time later

i am not sure what the training system is about, buy i am no huge fan of HRV or RHR to judge if i need a rest day or not.
I may train too much and i am guilty for not taking rest days because i love training, but what i have seen over the time that sometimes the days where i feel
completely run down etc. are those days that end up being days where i hit PRs and training goes smooth as butter..

Idk about the program but I wear a whoop… it’s been over a year. At this point before I look at the app on my phone I can tell what range my recovery will be in when I wake up. This is mostly based on HRV.

It’s very helpful when I get sick.. had the cough/flu several times in the past couple months (I live in the northeast USA).

The most important thing it provides me with is knowing when I have not fully recovered from being sick. I have said fuck it with low recovery and I have paid the price. You really start to get in sync with your body through the metrics.

I mostly train grappling/BJJ these days so I get crushed if I mess around without being fully recovered. Following your HRV/recovery imo/ime goes into how hard you are pushing yourself. I find that lifting isn’t going to crush my recovery the way grappling does. I am sure my lifting isn’t nearly as intense as most of the guys here but still worth mentioning.

I watched that vid, thanks @TheOtherOne55

I have decided against it for one factor. If my watch says "Hey you are run down etc", then I would likely match my attitude with the watch's results. "Oh I am run down I bet my workout will be less than stellar"

I am a numbers/stats guy but this might be a case where not knowing is better. Obviously I am not saying this with blood pressure, bloodwork etc....

Wore a Whoop for a year. GH lowers my HRV significantly due to the increased HR. Did not renew my subscription just did not feel it was worth it. As mentioned above I could see when I was starting to get sick via the data collected. From what I have read HRV has a genetic component and there are so many individual factors that it just became nuance. Get as much good sleep as you can, eat well and don't keep the gas pedal to the floor constantly.

Yea man. I almost started a thread here about Whoop and how gear affects it. I will wait until I have more data. It’s a trip. Personally I can’t go without my whoop but I do understand where you are coming from. I will read up on the HRV and genetic component. Sounds like I should 👊
