i remember from an interview that he would only train about half the year. if i recall, he was into bowling and when competitions ended he'd stay out of the gym completely for a few months. I know this was not unheard of for a lot of the 70's guys. Also if i recall, he didn't go with a very high protein diet.
He train 3 way split
Chest-back
Shoulders-arms
Legs
2-3 excersizes , 5 sets x 12 reps same weight offseason , training 3-4 times a week
4-5 excersizes , 5 sets x 12 reps precontest , training 6 times a week one time a day
4-5 weeks out train 6 times a week 2 times a day , each mucsle 3 x a week
All sets same weight , when can do 5x12 increase weight , small rest between sets , do as much work in as little time as possible
Deca and dboll for aas
One time he prepped on 80 g protein
