That's interesting, I wouldn't mind having a dog, I just don't have a big yard for them to play in, nor the time to give them.

Might get one once the kids get older, and hopefully I'll get some land.

I have been a dog owner since I was a kid. I applaud you in recognizing that at your current time a dog would not be appropriate. I hate when people adopt a dog and neglect it's needs and presence and don't appreciate being an owner. It is a responsibility that they don't realize.

For sure . After my wife passed and I began dating her nurse from the hospice. I sold the home and gave the $ to my kids after her hospital bills were paid off. This left me in an apartment which I knew was not a good situation for a dog. My girl had never owned a pet her entire life and was very interested in experiencing that as a young adult . So I opted for a cat. We had two when the first one we adopted together, a small Tortie, passed in her arms. OMG she was devestated she had never experienced loss in her life. No family members , friends, or pets had passed on. In left her with a lot of grief she physically couldn’t leave bed or stop crying for two full days. I know it sounds extreme for a 29 year old woman… but it was the first death she had to cope with and the little cat ,, she died i. Her arms.

Man I’m very sorry to hear that. I hope you’re doing okay. I get her pain, I hate the thought of losing an animal.
