Thanks for all the tips. Both of my kids recently moved out so the wife and I are empty nesters. I have been watching more netflix and amazon prime etc. Based on some recommendations here I just watched THE COMMUTER. Solid, not great, but very entertaining.
I like "real" type movies, series...in that, although they are scripted, it is still believable. I am not a fan of anime, action movies, super heroes, space villians etc. And I like comedies that are not slap stick. So if you are of the same mindset here are a bunch I would recommend:
Breaking Bad: Addicting series, crime, meth, suspense etc. A+
Better Call Saul: Follow up to BB, prequel. Slower to develop. B-
El Camino: Follow up movie to BB, but only watch if you have first seen BB. A
Sons of Anarchy: See above. Crime, murder, motorcycle gangs etc. A
Animal Kingdom: Point Break meets Sons of Anarchy. Set in the beach city of Oceanside SoCal. A
Ozark: Amazing, money laundering, drug cartels, lots of plot twists A+
Red Oaks: Nothing like any of the above. Feel good series set in the mid 80s at a swanky tennis club in Jersey. This was MY JOB in SoCal during the same time frame, so I really identified with it. Funny, light, realistic, a literal flashback in time including the music, clothes etc. This one is simply bubble gum for the brain but if you are 45-60 you can really identify with it. B
Shitts Creek: Hilarious, pure comedy, short episodes. Funny for men and women. A-
Narcos: Based on a true story. Drug cartels. You will be hooked. Crazy real shit going on south of the border. A+
Night Stalker: I lived it. 3 episode series. Binged them in 1 night. A+
