Moving need Gym Suggestions - South of Miami

I've been lurking around for quite a while here, lots of great info, thanks.

I am moving soon for my job, which is located in the Homestead, FL area. My wife and I will be looking for a new gym most likely a little north of Homestead, but don't want to go north of Pinecrest, FL.

We are looking for more of the hardcore type gym, preferably a gym with some competitors. My wife is a national qualified NPC Figure Competitor, and I am not a competitor, but love the more hardcore bodybuilding lifestyle. Hopefully there is a gym like this in a decent part of town.

I have never been south of Miami, so I dont know much about the area. Any help will be much appreciated.

There's a Gold's Gym around the Palmetto Bay/Cutler Ridge area right off of US 1. I know they used to be open 24 hours and had a decent atmosphere. I havn't been there since I graduated college in 05 though.

hey crush1 cant help you with a gym.but i have a ? me and my wife want to move to florida. maybe you can give me a push and share some feed back on your state. we just cant stand winter anymore. seems like most people that move thier are happy. and dont want to go back from were they came

Cant give you any suggestions yet. I havent ever lived in FL, I am planning on moving there in late Jan. 08. I am currently in Ohio, and I agree the cold weather sucks, LOL.

There is a real Hard core Gym very well equiped around the Falls Mall called Planet Fitness located in a warehouse.

Up to Homestead you dont going to find a good gym, just La Fitness witch is good to train but too fancy for serious train.

What are you going to do in Honestead. thats the end of the world, i mean i like it, you can have animals, plants, trees, etc. but it is very far from civilization.

Miami beach in da house here,go to SOBE FITNESS CLUB!!,or gold's gym in south beach,also in the beach EQUINOX,but too pricey,but my man,homstead!!is the end of the world,you will see more competitive pple in miami beach area.

Heck it would take 45 minutes on a good day to drive from Homestead to downtown Miami. Traffic in the Miamia area is brutal!

Bro, when I lived in South Miami, I worked out at Porky's Gym in Kendall, not far at all from you. Some monsters in there also! Great gym! Thank you would like it. Lot's of competitive Bodybuilders.....

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will definitely check out planet muscle and golds gym in the Kendall area. I will be working at Turkey Point, but dont mind driving a little everyday to live in civilization, LOL.

I hace never been at the golds gym's in kendall but everybody says are very good an lots of hard core people, Planet fitness is raw hard core and and good equipment.

While you're living in Homestead don't forget to get some roosters so they can run around on your lawn. You have to fit in down there.

LOL, I have no plans to live in Homestead at all. Thats just the closest town to my job location, I was thinking of living in the Kendall area.

yes, it is the same and they open a new one around Kendall too, people says they bouth are very nice.

i like south beach golds on alton its got sum old school stuff but i was there 4 mths ago and they updated there equipment but they still have fags working there

90% of the people in Miam Beach are gay bro, if you dont care you can train hard there, if you care dont go. For me is too much, i only have one gay friend of my wife, he is a nice guy, sorry gay, he is almost a grilfriend, but i have never got used to them and i would never do it.

Finally made it here to Miami yesterday

Now we are searching for a place to live. Staying in a hotel for the mean time, which sucks, if anyone knows of any good short term vacation rentals let me know

We are starting to look for a house to rent today, hopefully we can find something in the Kendall area of town, I really need to be close to a hardcore gym to keep my motivation high ;-)
