Mr. O Lee Haney

Went to Atlanta for Lee Haney's new NPC show last night.
One of the nicest and most humble guys you will meet in the business.
Looks to be in great shape for his age - didn't kill his body with the heavy weights or high doses I assume.

Yeah, many of the stars from the 70s and 80s look very healthy now in their old age. Larry Scott and Lou Ferrigno are two that come to my mind. I've never met Lee Haney but would like to. Haney was Mr. O through my high school years if I remember right and that was when I first started hitting the weights. I had a subscription to Muscle and Fitness.

Great and humble guy. Talked to him a few weeks ago when he was in town. He grew up in my area and went to one of our local high schools.

Unfortunately, Larry Scott is not looking to healthy lately, he died a year and a half ago, complications from alzheimers.

I met Lee Haney 2 years ago at the NPC Nationals here in Miami, actually, I was heading to the parking garage with my buddy (he's not into BBing too much but knows a few things,we were there supporting a friend competing) and Lee Haney held the elevator door as we came walking and I said thank you and I turned to my friend and said "its not every day an 8x Mr.O holds the door for you" we all laughed (he was there with family I assume, they we're all together) and as he walked out to his floor he gave me a fist bump lol

I was at the show too and met him. Like you said, a humble guy and only charges $100/hour for his services (unlike certain others who rip off naive "competitors"). That tribute to Albert Beckles and Cory Everson was nice.

tru about scott but he made it much much furthur than many do these days.
cant forget about frank zane even tom platz these guys still look great today
kevin levrone looks great as well, gotta be smart about your use

Lee was a monster for his time! One of the greats for sure. When he retired as an 8x Mr Olympia, he was only 32!! Most others haven't even hit their prime yet! Ronnie was 34 when he won his first Mr O.

I was in my teens and right into bodybuilding whilst he was at the helm of Mr O'

Apart from what I consider as having the GOAT physique, I have always idolized the man's character - he was and still is such a great role model for any man or adolescent.

Before show started and after Lee was done thanking everybody, sponsors, etc. he said something along the lines of "I apologize if it offends anybody but regardless lets have a word of prayer before we get started". In this day and age its nice to see somebody stand for their beliefs and not worry about trying to be so damn politically correct. He also had our National Anthem played before show started. Class act.

Yeah... He's the guy I'm always raising hell about on here when genetics talk comes up. Eats like complete crap and couldn't tell you what a healthy meal is if he wanted to.
He's my best friend though, and trains with an intensity I've never seen.

You may have seen him on ESPN. 6-7 World championships in 3 weight classes, currently 27 national level titles in his sport. They call him the myth and everyone in that game is gunning for him as he is just supposed to be someone who is too old to compete anymore.

Arms taped over 21" there... But get this, his forearms are over 19". Wrist almost 9"!
