Recently I experienced a form of muscle cramping that I never have before. I performed a back workout of Pulldowns and seated Hammer Rows then around 4-5 hrs later I was laying in bed and moved a certain way when my lower bicep / upper forearm area cramped up on both arms to the point where I had to keep them bent at a 90 degree angle and couldn't straighten my arms for a period of about 10 minutes.
I have been wearing a pair of braces on my upper forearms due to having golfers elbow on both sides but this wasn't the first time Ive used them. Usually have them on every workout that involves the upper body.
The only thing that I did differently was to use 2 individual handles on the pulldown machine(its a double pulley type) so I could use a parallel grip.
Only thing I can think of is the elbow braces causing a slight tourniquet effect that restricted some blood flow. But why did it happen hours after the workout and not right after?
Anyone else experience something similar or have any opinions?
