He was with me when I was too broke to make the rent and then he was with my when I paid cash for over $100k cars. I knew at his age the end was coming but I miss him so much every time I’m at home when he used to purr in my lap. Love you so much Ollie. Hopefully if there is an afterlife I will see you again.

So sorry for your loss of sweet Ollie.

17 years is truly a lifetime for a cat—it's right at the limit of what most cats can ever hope for. That alone tells everyone how well you loved and cared for him, even through your hardest, darkest days when you struggled to pay rent. Ollie was so incredibly lucky to have you as his person. He had a loving, loyal home with you when so many cats aren't that fortunate. He was with you through everything, and you gave him the most beautiful, full life imaginable.

I'm so sorry your home feels empty without his purr in your lap but those 17 years of love will stay with you forever. Sending you so much comfort and strength. Rest easy, precious Ollie.

Thank you for the kind thoughts 🙏

My advice, get another cute kitten. Might not replace him, but it sure will comfort you. I had a cat for 17 years too. Since then, I have gotten 5 cats. Call me crazy, but they entertain me.

Ive been here way more than I want to be the last few years. And I will be there soon again. I will hurt a thousand times for any of our cats if it means they never have to hurt a second for me.

Remember the life you gave him. In these moments of grief and loss it is easier said than done. But he lived a life of love and happiness with you. The tears and hurt today show the bond we have with our animals. And when the time is right, there is another lucky cat who will have the opportunity to live a great life with you.

Take care of you and allow yourself to truly feel what your experiencing. My thoughts are with you and Ollie.

I lost my cat back in May and still can't think of her without a my eyes welling up. Some animals just bind to your soul and after 17 years im sure he did. Just remember you gave him a life time of love.
I wouldn't say go out and get another lightly but I will say if your heart can handle it. there are many senior cats out there sitting in rescue centers that could use a kind soul like yours. They often get over looked for kittens but are even more full of love and gratitude.
Sorry again for you loss.

I love animals, extremely sad, but a nice old age for Ollie. Though it doesn't make it any easier.
A guy on my street, his dog just passed. She made it to 19 yrs old, which I think is sort of unheard of. (A Shepherd/Mutt mix).
All the best to you.

I never thought of myself as a cat guy. Had nothing against them I just always had dogs. Until I met my wife who brought 2 short haired domestic cats into my life. I fell in love with both of them. Then out of nowhere I got this insane interest in sphynx cats. My wife shared my curiosity. They are such an amazing breed. Curious, insanely loving and are like velcro. They always want to be with you. What started as 1 sphynx turned into 3. In the mix of all of this the Male short hair (Caeesar) got sick with a respiratory infection and never recovered. Fucking CRUSHED me. I creid for a couple of days.....OVER a CAT.....well that was my thinking. He was such a great companion and a loving little furball none the less. So now I have a 13 year old Domestic (Selene) as well as a 1, 2, and a 3 year old sphynx. I am now literally afraid of the idea of any of them passing. Sorry for this ridiculously long post but I just wanted to let you know that your not alone and it sucks balls to lose ANY pet (family member) and all you can do is cry it out and move on keeping them in your memory.

The Cat Distribution System works quite well :)

Rest easy sweet Ollie!
