MY BLOOD TEST RESULTS during HRT...please review

Just got my blood test back from last week. It has been probably a month since I sdtarted my HRT and I want to share the blood test results with you guys.

My doctor says I have excellent profile but a couple things are out of range.

My total cholesterol is a fantastic at 106 which is considered below the ref range of 125-200.
HDL is 48, ref range is >40
LDL is 31, ref range is <130 so this one kicks ass!!

I remember when my HDL was about 12mg/dl a couple years ago, so this is a complete turnaround.

BUN/Creatinine ratio is high at 25, ref range is 6-22...how do I fix that?

LH is low at 0.2
FSH is low at <0.7 but these are to be expected on HRT..am I correct?

These two bother me....
ESTRADIOL high at 117 total should be <52 pg/ml
Total ESTROGEN 390 which is very high, ref range is 130 or less

Im thinking it is time for nolvadex since I have a script for it and my lipid profile will not be affected.

Total test is 2041, ref is 260-1000
Free test is 394.1, ref is 50-210

These numbers reflect the 200mg of cyp I am taking per week along with HCG at 250 IU every other day. So my test should be elevated and it is.

The liver values are great except for 1...
AST is high at 45, ref range is 10-40... I am wondering what would cause this,and ideas? I am cgoing for a cat scan the end of the month, so I will have the liver fully checked, I do not anticipate any problems.

So my main questions are.....

#1 AST, what could be an explanation and how do I lower it?
#2 Bun/Creatinine, same question?
#3 High estradiol and total estrogen, time for nolvadex?

AST can be elevated from heavy training. for a more accurate reading take a week off from training prior to your blood test and it will drop.

I did not even think of that,your correct.I did a HEAVY leg/trap/bicep workout the day before. Very intense,so that will explain it. How does everything else look?

aspartate aminotransferase (AST) is, as you may or may not know, is an enzyme. In terms of its value, it may be that you have taken something that requires additional filterisation through the liver and thus the value increase. But to confuse matters, it can also be heart related (diseased or damaged) but lets not go there, especially if you dont have any other signs. Ive had higher AST values before, and what you need to do is as follows

For 7-10 days consume around 2.5gms of Milk Thistle, and also take 1-1.5gms NAC. Dont worry about all this fancy cleaners out there....use this and I assure you, the combination WILL lower your levels and cleanse your liver! After the 7-10 days, drop back both to 1gm and 500mg respectively.


#2 Bun/Creatinine, same question?

Ok, this value indicates how much nitrogen is in your blood from Urea. You may have guessed! Protein! and Breakdown! But it also indicates how well your kidneys are performing. A high value indicates the beasts are working a little harder.

A BUN-to-creatinine ratio can help your health professional predict which conditions, such as dehydration, may be causing abnormal BUN and creatinine levels and decreased kidney function.

#3 High estradiol and total estrogen, time for nolvadex?

Total Estrogen : Dump Nolvadex! Its crap! Take Arimidex or Exemstane or even Letrozole (the later two are more favourable to other assoicated hormones). either 12.5mg EOD for 4 weeks, or for Arimidex 1mg EOD for 4 weeks.

watch the arimidex, use very minimal amounts if you go that route it will destroy your cholestrol #'s

That will probably also explain the BUN/creatinine ratio being high. What was your creatinine?

The reason for the high estrogen is simple - you are not on true HRT. More testosterone = more estrogen. Pretty much all estrogen in a male is from test aromatizing. Your test is far above the normal range so naturally estrogen is also. Nolva wouldn't lower it either.

The reason for the Nolvadex is because of the cholesterol #s like Edge said. Arimidex will fuck that rartio up quickly, I would rather not do that. Nolva would make the #s even better.

Id disagree with Arimidex and it messing up too quickly. The data that this stemmed from was based on high usage over long periods, and then the BB community jumped on this! Its a little erroneous. If you are using it 1mg EOD for like 4 odd weeks, you will not screw up chol.

But, given the choice and your situ, id def use Exemstane hands down. Letrozole worse case.

Id def lower your floating Estro as too much isnt good; but equally too little hinders gains. So use something EOD and then backl off and get bloods again. U

You can also use proviron. It will free up more test and thus less aromatisation. I still don't think you need nolv. You need an Aromatase Inhibitor and Proviron fits the bill.

Well, I don't know. What does the doc say? For longevity I think bringing both the test and estro into the reference range would be best, obviously.

If I was you I would probably be somewhat concerned with the potential toxicity (especially liver - peliosis hepatitis is listed as a side) of Nolva, too. Probably not a good long term solution to treat high E.

I'm really shocked that your Testosterone levels are that high just off of 200 mgs. 2,000 ng/dl is really high.

How many days after your testosterone injection did you draw blood to have it tested???

It was 4 days after a shot, so maybe it was peaking which is the 3 day mark I believe. If it is so high after such a low dose then I can only imagine what it was when I was on 2 grams a week!! Geez, what an idiot I was....

Thats what I was thinking.

On 200 mgs (no HCG included), My total Test after 6 days (day before my next shot) was like 588 ng/dl

I'm curious how much these levels acctually fluctuate from the beginning of the week to the end.

Either way I'd say its safe to say your body must soak it up pretty good.


P.S was your RBC,Hemoglobin, hematocrit, elevated at all???

I don't think Nolvadex is going to help your total estrogen, it may make it worse. I'm not an expert but I think Nolv is a weak estrogen by itself and merely acts as an estrogen blocker by competing for the receptors, particularly in breast tissue.

What you need to bring the estrogen down is an AI, like Arimidex, Letro, etc. Do a search and maybe you could find out which ones of those is easiest on total cholesterol, although it looks like you have room to play with the HDL/LDL numbers.

OTH is pretty sharp with that kinda stuff maybe he will chime in here...

But why does he need to lower it? Unless he is having libido issues or excessive water retention, I"m not aware of any health problems it is going to cause.

If any supplement. I would Think Aromasin would the safest/best.

THERE IS SOME EVIDENCE IN STUDIES THAT SHOW THAT EXCESS ESTRO CAN CAUSE PROSTATE ISSUES.. DAVE PALUMBO HAS ALSO STATED THIS (EXCESS ESTRO) CAN BE A BIG CULPRIT IN PROSTATE ISSUES (CANCER, BHP ECT).. now.. what is excess estro?? bn.. man, you are the lucky one who could have taken 400 mgs of test and maybe another small compound and had numbers off the charts and good gains.. makes me wanna get a blood test while on to see where mine are at on low dosage..
