This chokes me up, I love kitty cats! I have 2 and at first my wife was not a cat lover. She now treats them like little kids and spoils them. My cat Max, I almost lost. He had too have surgery to live. I know how you feel. My advice to you is to adopt one of the many at your SPCA. They need some one like you who will appeciate them. Sorry about your loss.

She was adopted and so was our other (Kevin).
We will definately adopt again. Kevin needs a friend around of his own species.

It will be a while, though before we adopt. Right now it feels strange thinknig about getting another. Not this soon.

I really never thought I could feel this way though. We'll miss her for sure.

I lost my cat Harley about a year ago, he was a big tom cat at 16 pounds. He was a good friend, and one of the few cats to play fetch. He would catch the ball I throw and actualy bring it back and drop it off at my feet, waiting for me to throw it again. Sadly missed.

My older brother lost a cat when I was in college, I remember like it was yesterday.

He lived alone at the time, that was his first pet and he never had another pet since, it can be hard losing a pet.

finding an animal dead is one thing, but watching a member of the family die is completely different, very traumatic. I don't even care for cats and I cried when I had to put my daughters cat to sleep (car hit him)

I'm really sorry An adorable little one eyed kitty too! Even though they are animals they become a friend and a family member and it's painful to loose a friend and a family member whether it's been 1yr or 20yrs. Hopefully you can rescue one from an animal shelter!!!
