i don't post here alot and this seems kinda weird to put this out there, but i figure it can't hurt..... my dad is a great man, a great husband and father. he has spent his entire life making sure he has put me and my mother first in everything.

he has been battling cancer for the last year with various treatments. yesterday we found out that it had spread to his lungs. we now wait to see what steps we will take next.

i am a faith driven person, and i hold onto the belief that there is a plan. cancer is a horrible thing, and everyone deals with it in some form or another. i would appreciate your prayers if you pray and maybe one day there will be a real cure for this disease.

take some time to let your family know how you feel about them and cherish the time you have with them.

sorry for this downer of a post, i still believe something great can happen for my dad, and we live with the anticipation of a miracle.

ABOUT A GREAT LUNG CANCER GUY IN MORRISTOWN, NJ. I WILL TRY TO FIND THE ARTICLE.

I've been there brother

My father had non-Hodgkins(sp) lymphoma. It was a very rough time, tough on all of us.But my father is a fighter and came through.Chemo and radiation is what fixed it.But what we think really helped alot was the fact that my father was able to eat. Most people on chemo just cannot stomach food.It makes them sick. And that is where you start to see them getting weak and wilt away. But my father knew he had to keep his nutrition at a high level and he fought through it.This is a man who LOVES food, cooking is a hobby of his,and to see him not have an appetite was rough. But like I said he did it.That and the fact that his faith and my mothers faith is about as strong as you can imagine. They were positive through the whole thing, and I think there faith in God was the final ingredient that pushed my father through.

I have my doubts on religion, but there is something to be said about strong faith.Whatever the case is,I know it can't hurt only help.My father is doing great now and I actually have tears in my eyes writing this.I love him to death.I wish you the best of luck with your father and if you ever need to talk to someone, don't hesistate. We are all here for each other.........

I'm sorry about what is happening to your dad and your family. I will have you and yours in my prayers.

I feel for you my friend . I lost my 39 year old sister to cancer earlier this year and cancer took two of my beloved dogs this year as well .Also a close friend Mk was taken recently by this fucked up disease [ they all fought very hard .......but the cancer got them ] Five years ago, my grandfather died in my arms of lung cancer and I couldn't believe what the cancer did to him. It is just a horrible disease and it has caused me so much pain over the last year it is hard to mention . I really hope things are different for your father ........I wish him nothing but the best outcome . Take Care if you need to talk PM me , I am sorry that you are going through this . Stay strong !

powerforward,

You can add my family to the list of people praying for your father and a cure.

BALDNAZI,

Great story! Thank you for sharing it. :) Your 100% right. My friend had cancer and it took him eventually. He was doing well and responding to treatment. Untill he could not eat anymore and could no longer go fishing. Once eating and something the person loves doing are not an option, it can go down hill quite fast.

God Speed my friends!

Just recently, my mom got back her mammogram results. It showed that she had lumps on both sides. When she told me, she was crying and I felt my heart drop to my stomach. Of course, I prayed for her. She had some additional tests done, one of which was a biopsy. Thankfully, the biobsy showed that the lumps weren't cancerous, but there was a good chance they could turn that way. She had surgery to remove the lumps and they believe now that she is out of danger.

I feel for anyone who has to endure this. I wouldn't wish this disease on my worst enemy. Powerforward, no matter what, keep your faith strong. I truly hope everything works out ok for your dad. During times like this faith and family are the only things that can pull you through
