My Inspiration

My 6 year old son has already decided that he wants to be a runner. He absolutely loves it. He wants to be the next Steve Prefontaine and run for the University of Oregon.

I'm by no means a track guy at 5'8 230lbs but I love that he's into it.

I'm careful not to let him overtrain or burn out, because he is still so little but he can already run an 8 minute mile. I would think thats what the average grown man runs.

I am excited for his future.

Like you said... dont let him burn out. Such a young age, easy to lose interest in something.

Thanks. Your right. I always wait till he ask me to go. I never bring it up to him.
