My Last Bite of Chicken

So I was getting ready for bed and the thought of eating 8oz's of chicken was making me want to throw up. I was talking to my fiance' telling her...I have to eat this chicken but the thought of it is making me sick....She had to give me a pep talk to eat the chicken. I chewed as fast as possible and gulped it down with some crystal light fruit punch. Man...I'm getting sick of chicken...argh.

You must be eating a LOT of chicken. I still love it. BBQ'ed plain then add Cholula hot sauce!

Maybe you ought to read up on the thread about blending tuna and OJ and chugging it down. Might work for chicken too.

Before bodybuilding...

I used to enjoy fine dining. Now, like most of you, eating has become a daily chore. I haven't "enjoyed" a meal in so long. Anyone else feel this way. I know what you're thinking, I have to enjoy a meal once in a while. NOPE! Between my puree (sp?) of chicken breasts prepared in the blender every morning, to the 12 raw egg whites I put in my trusty 44oz cup a few times a day....not to mention the endless cans of tuna I have stacked in my pantry (my mouth probably smells like a snatch) and to make sure I'm "full" the endless amounts of sweet potato I force down my throat. Sorry for the rant...I'm done now. :D

I still enjoy my meals cause I'm always hungry, but I know what you guys mean. Now when I look at food I see protein, fat, carbs, and fiber. Its a good thing, not a curse.

We are aware of macronutrients and their use in our bodies. We make good choices and are well-educated on how we need to eat. Most people just eat whatever is closest or cheapest.

People in general have no idea that what they put into their bodies is the single most important daily decision they have to make.

shoulda just slammed that breast in the blender and chugged the little bugger down:foo:-smil

Same thing for me with dark chocolate... eating pieces with about every meal (which means 5 to 10 times a day depending on my hunger), I'm now slowly starting to get sick of it... ;)

I didn't think that was possible!:D

Go to the recipes forum. There are alot of different ways to cook your chicken. I think if you keep eating and cooking it different ways you get over the sick thing. EX. Get your chicken cubed (like cubed sterak) by the butcher. It cooks quick, stays juicy and is easier to get down. Plus it caprtures more of whatever seasoning you use.

Got so sick of chicken and tuna that I avoid them now. Cant afford to eat steak all the time so now most of my protein requirements come from suppliments. I'm surely not the only one in this boat.

This is what I try to warn so many bber's from. The key to this is to not be lazy, what I mean by this.
1) alternate your proteins OFTEN, there is no reason to eat chicken constantly when you have several variations of lean and fatty fish, tuna, egg whites, steak, lean turkey, ect...
2) prepare your food with effort, if you are just putting plain breast in the pan and frying them up or even on bbq then you will get sick of it. Try marinating it in olive oil and alternate spices, bbq one day, stir fry w/ veggies the next, chicken salad the next. Also alwasy buy fresh chicken not the freezer shit.

gonna take time before u'll get totally sick of it, u chocolate lover  :D

I eat a shit load of chicken to and it doen't wear on me like tuna does , I just eat it in big bites and wash down with water. I actualy jst got back from enjoying a nice dinner.
I had two 6oz Mahi-Mahi filets and a pile of steemed vegies with about 4 glasses of water ,it was great ,probably could have eaten another filet.

I do try to eat some lean red meat a few times a week , I'm a beef addict so that helps mix it up.

I'm trying more and more to cut the shakes out and get more of my cals from food and I've thown in some of Phil's LBA's.

switch it up with turkey breast, fish, lean beef & use a variety of seasonings

Great post. This is how I look at it too. Sometimes I think there is something wrong with me though, because 95% of the time, I love my diet, day after day, all year long. Rarely want anything else. The way it makes me feel & look is more powerful than having a wide variety.

I dont even eat chicken in the offseason...And if I have a choice I usually go for fish while dieting...Prolly cause I cook like shit and my chicken is plain and dry...I cant mess up tilapia...Put some lemon pepper on throw it i the micro and eat in 2 minutes...

I used to be in this boat as well. I didn't care how what I was forcing down tasted, I was
only concerned with the macro breakdown of everything and getting it done. In the
beginning you don't care, you just know what you "need" to do, but unfortunately (or maybe fortunately)
we are not machines. You will get burnt out. Plain. And. Simple.

Some simple things that have helped me:
There are these amazing things full of flavor called spices and seasoning. Use them accordingly.
One that I particularly like is 5-spice powder (anise, peppercorn, cinnamon, fennel seeds, ground cloves).
You can put this on anything and instantly it is transformed. Things as easy as grated lemon peel, fresh
herbs, infused vinegars can make all the difference and require almost no effort.

Marinate your chicken/fish/whatever the night before. Pass on the oil and high-fructose corn syrup concoctions
from the store and prepare your own simple seasoned fruit juice or chicken broth marinades.

Introduce new textures. Lay that massive slab of chicken on top of some highly seasoned quinoa when you
need a change. Chop up some crunchy celery and onions and mix that in with your vomit inducing can of
tuna before you sweatily force feed yourself next time.

Sauces don't have to be off limits. It's the kind of sauces you prepare and how much you use that matters.
Don't short change yourself with one of the easiest ways to make a meal taste great.

Everyone always complains about time when it comes to food, but all of these things I have suggested will
only add 5-10 mins tops to your meals. Spend the little effort it takes and start looking forward to your
next meal instead of dreading it. Stop making food a chore.
