For a wide variety of reasons I won't go into here,
I lurked, did not post for a couple of years after I
joined.
My take on post count and posting guidelines.
Post numbers, be they high or low, are irrelevant
as far as meaningful contributions are concerned.
It's much like boasting about your bodyweight,
measurements, or strength. Too many blind
variables to make an accurate assessment.
My posting guidelines:
- post to add value
- photos / videos add credability
- take nothing personal
- do not respond to personal attacks
- do not post in anger . . . play nice
- disagreements / issues, take it to PM
- threads are not for personal messages
- be honest and respectful
- be criticial only when asked
- balance the negative with the positive
- treat others as you would like to be treated
- stay on topic
- stupid posts, just ignore them
- have fun
I am generally not in favor of any form of censorship
or moderation, but on the internet, and especially
on these types of forums, I think it can add value.
Furthermore, I think that this is one of the strong suits
of this forum; great moderators that separate the
wheat from the chaff, and quality contributors that
have the experience to be of value.
Large or small, thank you all for your contributions.
And it's never too late to teach an old dog new tricks.
