I started lifting around age 14 and stopped cold at 28. My body felt wrecked. I was diagnosed with hypogonadism (low T). At 28, I was training for my first BB show and discovered an abscess at an injection site. I stopped everything immediately and lost all my years of hard work. Going from a fairly lean 240 at 5'10, eating seven meals a day to a skinny 190 and being lucky to eat more than once a day in less than a year. I began HRT with androgel (T levels in the low 200) and my appetite came back. Unfortunately, I also became really fat tipping the scales well over 260 and 35%+ body fat. With several attempts to get my health back together, I finally began training again less than five months ago. At this time I weighed around 240 with 32% BF. My waist was 47 inches around. Today I've only lost about 8 pounds of weight, but I've lost 8 inches off my waist, gained nearly an 1 1/2 on each arm and 2 inches on each leg. And a great deal of BF. At 38 on my HRT, my T levels are in the upper 700 to lower 800's. I feel the best I have in years.
For the last few months I've been spending my time powerlifting on a 4 day routine. I do light cardio 3-4 days a week, but my diet needs a great deal more effort.
My strength is climbing rapidly and I've decided to enter my first powerlifting contest this November. Other than my HRT, I am natural and I train completely raw without a belt or wraps.
Here are my best gym lifts to date, all done during a workout. Squat 495x2 ATG, 405x1 with a pause on bench and 500x5 on dead lift. I don't train dead lift, but once or twice a month because of a herniated disk in my lower lumbar region. I'm not nearly as strong as I was when I was younger and juiced up, but I'm really happy with my progress. I will be posting pics and videos in the near future.
