Well guys thought I was gonna have to put another loving member down, if you remember about 6 wks or so I had to put down my 10 yr old boxer...My 10 yr old rottweiler (Makita) has not been herself for the last 2 wks, but about a wk ago she slowly stopped eating, just a little bit here and there. Sunday she she stopped eating all together, I usually put an egg in her food and she would not even eat that and she also started to limp/drag her back legs. When I got home monday after the gym things started looking bad, she was really dragging her back legs, she could barely stand up, tuesday got even worse, she could not stand up, tried helping her up but she would just fall down so my wife and I talked about it throughout the night and we decided to put here down the next morning. When I woke up and went outside to say my last goodbye (I just could not take her in) I said to myself this is not right we are cutting her life short so I woke my wife up and told her to let the Dr. take a look at here and let her decide, here is the good part about this, she was diagnosed with diabetes, her sugar was 864 and her kidneys shut down, that is why she could not walk, she also went from 120lbs to 86lbs. Dr. put her on an IV and gave her an insulin shot and said she has a real good chance of recovering from this with no side affects. The Dr. said if we would have waited a couple more days she would have died. She will spend the next 2 days at the vet and sometime friday she will come home, the bad thing is she will get a daily dose of insulin. Really don't know what made me change my mind about putting her down but I am really glad we did not go through with it, I will be so happy to pick her up Friday and bring her back where she belongs.

Awsome am happy for u bro......

Good news man. I know how hard it is and especially since they cannot talk to us. Canine diabetes is not uncommon. It is treatable as you have found out. Just as well you took her in when you did. These animals become part of our families and our lives. Comes a time when we all have to make a tough call for the good of the pet. In your case you did the right thing, got an opinion first. You may have a few more good years ahead with her now. Well done and I am happy for you!

Another sad day

OK guys I will keep it short, my rott Makita passed away sometime last night/early morning, guess she was to far gone to help her. The Dr. really thought she was going to make it. I want to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Lexus and Makita are both in a better place.

I hate diabetes I have had it for 20 something years now. It will most likely be my death too. Sorry the docter could not save her.

So very sorry for your loss. Thought are with you and your wife!

I'm sorry that she didn't make it. I know your heart is breaking. My thoughts are with you too...

I lost my baby in January to cancer. He was a 15 yr old cat that I raised from a kitten. I loved that cat so much and still miss him. Just remember all those good times and love that she brought you.

Emeric, how could you have saved her??, the Dr. is not really sure what she died from, other then her sugar level was very high.

I would like to talk with that Dr. can you PM me her tel # ? I would like to introduce my product to her, so we can save many pets from death.

lost dog

I just read what you said to Emeric, I also looked above at your post when you mentioned your loss and you said they told you diabetes. I have read all of the studies done on diabetes and the Dogtor-rx has helped tremendously. I am a breeder of world class rottweilers and found out at the university that my female had major hip dysplasia and they offer me no help just the usual go home and give them glucosamine and chondroitin , that shit did nothing , I later found out about Dogtor-rx and used it with nothing to loose, with in 1 week and that's no lie my dog showed major signs of improvement. I bairly give it to her now and she is just like a pup again. I noticed that Emeric posted a study . you should check that one out it talks about diabetes and how well Dogtor-rx has helped.

Best of luck with all your dogs in the future.
