To start this story off I am still mourning the loss of my English Mastiff Walker who died in May of 2010. He was almost 10 and the best dog I have ever had. I still miss him everyday and wonder what i could have done to keep him around a little longer.
Ok..So back to the original post. I have two dogs left. Wendy a female English Mastiff (9) and Sol A male yellow lab (5) I noticed a small growth on his side a couple months back, and it started to get bigger. So i took him to the vet to get a needle biopsy done. The report came back neither negative nor positive. It showed a typical cells..which basically means abnormal cells. So i decided to have it removed. The report from the mass came back positive for a connective tissue carcinoma. All of the margins are clean wich is a good thing, but he has to go to an oncologist when his wound heals. I am really bummed about this. I cant take another loss so soon.
