Into my second week of cruise and my pulse has decreased to 40-45bpm during the day @ 2.5mg nebivolol.

I'm not sure what it is during sleep, I must assume it can be even lower at times.

I have two options in mind.

1. Decrease the dose to 1.25mg
2. Stop the medication overall.

My concern with option 2 is abruptly stopping nebivolol.

Anyone has experience that they can give me in this scenario?

Never had this problem, as my heart rate runs naturally pretty high.

Sounds like you’re taking it as a preventative for LVH; as I assume your HR is naturally on the lower side with 40’s during the day. I can’t really get those numbers even with Nebivolol. I’d taper for a few days to the lower dosage, then stop in my scenario of course.

But, for you what was your HR before starting? If it was in the 60’s or something, I assume you can just stop. Taper if you feel the need.

Why are you taking it in the first place? Sounds like it might not be the right Bp med you need

If your heart rate is in the 40’s, you don’t need it. Simple as that. I’ve had no issues coming off without a taper.

Definitely. It’s not metoprolol. Nebivolol doesn’t lower it drastically. His sounds low anyway

Yeah preventative for LVH....no my usually runs below 70's during cycle but never this low. Cardio picked up, food went down and dosages went down as I entered the cruise. It seems there was a large hemodynamic shift. Now it's sitting at 40s.

settled at 1.25mg which brought things up to 55-60. I dont like the idea of dropping then having to re-ingroduce next blast..Id rather increase or decrease the dose as needed.

I know this is just a copy & paste but it's worth considering bc stopping adruptly; Rebound is a Real possibility. My introverted son took propranolol sporadically for social anxiety and he experienced a lil bit of rebound nothing dangerous or peolonged but it is my experience of it actually being possible in real life.

"Nebivolol should never be stopped abruptly due to the high risk of severe rebound effects, including dangerous spikes in blood pressure, angina, rapid heart rate (tachycardia), and heart attack. A gradual, doctor-supervised taper over 1–2 weeks is essential to safely withdraw the medication."
