Thursday morning I was doing BB shrugs, got some tightness, nothin that had to stop my workout. Continued to work back and do DB shrugs. Then Friday did delts no problem. But mid-day Friday my neck was getting tight and I noticed I had trouble turning it. Saturday and Sunday morning I wake up can barley move it. Have been doing light stretching and using a heating pad and it gets better as the day goes on, but when I wake up it feels so tight its a chore to even lift my head.
Any idea if its just some tightness, a strain, or something worse like a disk? I have had a similar thing happen in my back but always healed it by heating it, light stretching, vs using cold and resting it which seemed to make it tighten up more. Active recovery vs RICE for a strain which IMO is more painful and a different feeling than tightness.
Thoughts? Anyone ever had a really stiff neck for 4 + days?
