need ideas for training traps in a wheelchair

Can you sit on the edge of a bench and do shrugs from there? Just curious when you train say chest (pressing) do you sit in the machines or lie on a bench or do you use equipment designed for wheelchair users? My gym has a multi station for people in wheelchairs but sure traps would be more awkward. Just adding if you had 2 horizontal bars like gymnasts use you could perform shrugs like that. But it would be difficult to get in position as they would need to be low down. I can't think of any other way.

Face pulls and band pull aparts are great! Youtube them if you don't know how to do them. Hope that helps!
 
Can you lean to one side at a time and use dumbbells that way working each trap separately?
 
Thanks I was thinking of just using one arm at the time on the cable machine but I'll youtube that to never hurts to have more than one trick up your sleeve

Possibly I'll have to ratchet strap in paralyzed from below chest down

I guess I'll have to get my wide ratchet straps out I use the machines mostly but if transfer to a bench I have to be strapped to it I don't have any stabilizer muscles
 
Not my idea so dont give me credit.

I watch a guy in a wheel chair strap a low Pulley to his chair and "srug" the weight with his hands on the wheels

I'm not sure how well you climb and move out of your chair but would it be possible to do chest down incline dumbbell shrugs? Perhaps someone at the dumbbell rack would be nice enough to hold you in place?

Another idea is to find a permanent workout partner to help you move and hold you steady?
