hey guys i heard this story from one of my bros... it got put on the news last nite as well... it absolutely sickened me... if any of you know Chris King(training manager) or Justin Rivers(regional manager) of LA FITNESS boyton beach, FL..tell them to fuck themselves... contact Todd McSeveny(ceo LA fitness)- [email protected] 949-255-8186 and tell him that this situation is untolerable... here is a link to the story, my boy pete is in the interview and now LA fitness is trying to revoke his membership bc he did the interview... fuck these peeps!

they took an elderly handicapped lady and ESCORTED her out! told her she had to leave bc her physical therapist was with her... they told her that there trainers could pick her up and put her on the machines(she has a broken back) and she told them they were not qualified to work with her.. so they told her she must leave and wanted to take her membership.. wtf!?! call these guys and send them emails tellin them to get their act together.. thank you brothas!!

They kicked out someone is handicapped! !?? Seriously!? May God help them, ill che k out the interview .. I don't care if the gym is for "competitive bodybuilders" or for "mostly professionals".. you simply don't kick anyone out for not breaking any gym rules! ESPECIALLY if handicapped! This is a down right disgrace to the fitness community!

Basically they said.. "you're handicapped so you're not allowed a chance at better health" what an outrage!

What upsets me is that people have no common sense anymore.

LA Fitness likely has a policy in place (most gyms do) and it is a good policy, however LET'S USE SOME COMMON SENSE. The policy is not in place for situations such as this.

What they should do is require the PT to get insured in case they get injured or the woman does.

She sounds like a potential liability. La Fitness isn't set up for a private rehab facility. Wait till she falls out of her wheel chair because the La Fitness aisle was 1/2 inch too narrow and she sues them. Absofuckinglutely.

I would have wheeled her trouble-making non functioning ass out of my gym - when I owed one.

You don't like this sort of thing guys? Blame the lawyers, they created our obscenely litigious society.

So she got kicked out of the gym because they didn't want to get sued. So she is doing what now? Suing them?

While I usually would agree w you coach... The fact that she went to the gym for many years before then all of a sudden when she brought in a PT specialist, they said ther trainers could work w her and she said they weren't qualified... They didn't not do this in a polite manner.. They had 2 trainers come up and tell her to stop her set and leave... Then escorted her out like a criminal... I'm not tha soft lovey dovey type that usually cares, but obv this made the 5:00 news so it wasn't just a normal thing...

Sadly that is what the legal system has become. Everyone is scared to death of getting sued.

A physical therapist should have their own place to train their clients. For their own sake they should not be using some gym where they have zero idea if the equipment has been properly maintained.

If I owned the gym I would have done whatever I could to have avoided a potential lawsuit.. I'm guessing thats what it all boils down to.

Again, It's still a POS thing to do to some handicap person who wants to improve their quality of life.

They definitely went the wrong way about it. I don't think it would have been much out of there budget to get a lawyer to write up a contract stating that La Fitness isn't set up for a rehab facility, so they are not liable for any injuries. She had been there for 5 years and I think if she was going to sue them she wouldn't have waited so long.

Agreed, BUT, as I learned in business law, release forms don't really mean much. All they do is really act as a deterrent from potential lawsuits
