nerve damage from blood drawn

What kind of nerve damage has been done? Is it bad or just a weird feeling in ur arm?

ringing feeling in the arm but doctor said it happens rarely but it should go away after a while

I once got my blood drawn, and I believe a nerve was hit, because I got this constant but mild pain that lasted for at least a month.

I'm not sure how yours is compared to mind, but if your condition doesn't show any signs of improvement after a week, you should see another doctor, get it checked out to document it. Hopefully it won't get to this, but if things go bad, you might want to check with a lawyer.

Dude this happened to me and I totally lost it. I am crazy vascular and this day 1 rookie jammed a needle so deep into my arm that my hand went pins and needles instantly. I had the doc that order the bloodwork check it out. In the mornings and when I'd stretch my arms I felt it for about 2 months. Barely noticed it after 2 weeks.

if it didnt get better, what case do i have? am i sueing the person for not performing the procedure right possibly? or just quest diagnostics for accidents happen and their insurance i guess gets in? if I felt this ringing in my arm for the rest of my life I would be pissed and looking for some compinsation. How much do ya think I would get? how do they measure how much pain i am feeling? are nerve doctors able to determine whether there is something wrong or pain in a certian area? how do i prove it happened there?

I bet you signed a waiver before getting your blood drawn stating you are risking damage to a nerve along with everyother random risk including death. Chances are tissue got irritated and will heal shortly or you had a pre-existing condition that you are hyper aware of now. I hope you feel better though.

Had this yrs ago...stupid nurse taking a riutine blood test and i felt a really sharp pain when drawing...then i felt all the pins and needles and it really hurt when I stretched my arm out.

It goes away after a while but I still have a weird sensation over the veins in my wrist so much that I cant have drips in thru my left arm as it feels uncomfortable.

From what doc said its really rare but fuck mine was more worse than a normal case

You would have to speak to a lawyer regarding this. He/she will be able to tell you if you have a case or not.

Again, your lawyer should be able to tell you this, but my speculation is that the medical facility would be liable, not the lab tech, since they have liability insurance.

As I mentioned previously,

1. You go see your doctor and report this incident, so that there is a record that you went in to see him/her about this problem right after you went to have your blood drawn. Make sure that it mentions about this problem in the medical report.

2. In a week or two, if your condition stays the same, see your doctor again. If the problem is bad, ask for a referral to see a nerve specialist. Then get a lawyer.
