I'm celebrating that almost 2 years ago I discovered my love and passion for this sport. I got to where I am all by myself with hours and hours of research. Dedication and working my ass of and idc what people think but I'm proud of myself. While all my buddies are out drinking during the height of college I'm busting my ass at the gym with bigger dreams running thru my head haha. A lot of my progress I can credit to this awesome community. Waited over 2 years to make my first post here. Thanks again.

So here is my question?

Now I would like to know what the best route for me would be. I have a trainer now that I am preparing for a show in march but he's not really all there. I need contest prep help? Anybody help me out? Advice?

Haha I mean he's been a family friend my whole life and he's a national level competitor in the masters division he's just extremely busy opening an expansion to his business right now.

It's just hard cuz in the end I'm still a college kid who is all on his own and paying my own way thru school so money is a concern. Ha boy has got to eat!

If he's competent, should be ok. Assess Ur.pics. adjust diet as needed.

Having just did a show. It's expensive!! Aside from drugs, easily $20+ a day on food. So know that going in..... Wish I did. Lol.

No haha he's fully competent. He's a personal trainer who owns his own gym but he's in the process of building a new multi million dollar facility to stay on track with cross fit and sports related training. Great dude just busy.. No money is not really an issue I should say I have couple good jobs ;-) but I'd rather take the couple hundred a month to pay a trainer and put it towards my sups, food, and well hell bills haha

If you want to bring in your best package, hire a trainer. My non-biased opinion would be to hire Shelby. He seems to be on his game as far as really helping out his guys and returning emails in a timely fashion. The problem with your buddy is that he seems to be busy and isn't going to have time for you in the end when you need him most. You are going to have a hundred questions when it's close to contest time and you'll need someone you can trust. If your doing it for fun and don't really care how you place, then just do the diet your self.

You are certainly is a good spot to start a prep , if you arn't willing or able to pony up the funds to hire a trainer thenni suggest you do some reading here , their is a TON of good info , just take pics weekly so you can track your progress
