New Classic physique division height/weight numbers

so I was wondering how the NPC IFBB came up with the height/weight requirements? With the numbers I saw it is very similar to the regular physique division. The cutoff weight per height does not really allow for legs. Where were these numbers pulled from?? I thought the new classic physique was suppose to be a step up from regular physique.

does not really allow for legs?

wat.

I think that the NPC/IFBB is looking for bodybuilders to put more effort and focus into developing their unique lines and features to create beauty and aesthetics.. kinda how bodybuilding should be + with incredible condition that we don't see as often as we used to (since guys in the open are now focused on the size game it seems)

as opposed to the ridiculous hulking, huge-gutted bodybuilders we see winning competitions today.

There are no weight requirement for physique now so...

If anything the numbers are 5-10 lbs lower than they should be. I personally think they're fine.I think people are complaining because they don't want to diet down and possible lose some muscle.

I think the tables have turned a bit and people that are tall have the edge now. I competed in middle weight and had to weigh 176. Im 6ft tall. Going against a dude who is 5'5 is pointless. He's going to look denser, thicker, and just better.

Pretty much gonna some muscle contest prepping anyways.

Classic physique doesn't discriminate legs. You can have solid legs and still fall in the weight requirement. Many of the top physique guys have good legs that are hidden. Many too would make their weight requirement. Don't forget depleting the way that 212 guys doto make weight.

Take a guy like Sadik who was 6' 185 lbs competing in regular physique, now in classic physique he can go up to 207 + the judges will probably be looking for classic guys to come in more shredded than regular physique. It will be interesting to see.

This is spot on. Aesthetics and conditioning are what this division is about and I can't wait to see how this years Olympia is going to be. This division is going to be the definition of shredded

If Sadik was ever 6' 185... he certainly isn't now

There are weight limits for each height. its on the website.

This is awesome. Thanks for posting!

Yeah I noticed that and should have added it, just being super hopeful that it does change because I want a more interesting Olympia where I can't assume who is going to win the men's divisions

Is the schedule out somewhere online, or did they only email it to competitors?

Scratch that, I found it: **broken link removed**

Im happy too. Right now im hovering around 218-220. Stage weight for me will be somewhere around 203-206 @ 6ft.
Ive done regular physique and always got marked down for coming in too hard & grainy.

Don't bother posting the height and weight requirements, let's just discuss them without getting into specifics. It's funny to see weight classes that I'm "too big" for.
