New Drugs on the Horizon?

You couldn’t pay me to click on that 😂

They have yet to perform any human trials.

If AAS and muscle signalling worked similar in monkeys/gorillas as they do to humans, then we'd all be looking like the size of silverback.

I'd never give up training or they way I eat anyhow. Not going to prevent your ateries from clogging up with shit from macky D's every morning and evening.

I think at best, this kind of stuff will be useful for elderly, to prevent age induced muscle athropy.

I remember hearing about myostatin inhibitors and such things about 10-15 years ago and so far nothings come of it. Even if these latest things do have potential by the time they actually get released (if ever) the current generation of bodybuilders will probably be retired anyway so essentially none of us of current are probably going to be getting the bodybuilding benefits from them

This hints at an interesting point I was thinking on my walk after lunch today.

What Israetel says at the end about this "aesthetic revolution", where everyone will be able to live in his dream body and so on - in a hypothetical scenario, where looking like a bodybuilder was as easy as swallowing a pill, a large part of what makes bodybuilding so attractive would be ruined for me. I love bodybuilding because being even moderately succesful at it is reserved exclusively to those that are willing to sacrifice a lot of time, money and hard work to reach their goal - being extremely muscular is like a badge of honour and people admire it because it is rare. What makes it so rewarding is exactly that it is so difficult and time consuming. And it is not just about the emtional reward or the admiration you get from others - it also builds your character in the process and teaches you a lot about life in general that you can then apply to other endeavors.

I don't know if I could keep on training and eating this way if a drug like this existed - it certainly would be a lot less fun.

yeah I was just going to post the same. I literally remember talking to a friend 20 years ago about how sarms and myostatin inhibitors will take away all side effects of steroids and you really won't need to train much.

I'm not saying this is nothing...but it's not as riveting as the catchy title makes it. Thanks for sharing though OP. I don't listen to RP often but this was somewhat interesting.

I think if it’s all so simple to just take a substance and have your dream body, there will always be different views of what that body is. If you look at yourself, and I guess that goes for every one of us, you’re never satisfied. If you’re 200, 250 or 300lbs, it’s never good enough. That’ll always stay the same. We would just have a lot more fucking big freaks walking around at 350-400lbs or something like that? Dropping dead by 30-35 though 😅. But you know what I mean. We love to train, we love and hate the lifestyle (atleast I do sometimes) but we keep on going cause we’re also just a ‘tad’ crazy. That personality thing won’t change.

Spot on. This is why I'm rooting against glp's. If they developed a drug that makes willpower and hard work irelevant and allows people who don't have it succeed at dieting, a similar drug for muscle building is coming.

Although I don't think the bigger guys have to worry, i don't think many people will want to look like bodybuilders, just lean with some muscle and aesthetic like a ufc fighter.

I have to disagree with you here - I am not against people getting access to useful medications or drugs that improve their lives ... not at all.

There will always be new drugs entering the market that make it easier for people to reach their goals. Right now, GLP-1 drugs are the latest trend, widely used for both medical and cosmetic purposes. These medications are helping many people—especially those struggling with weight—lose fat faster and with minimal effort. I think that’s a great development if it improves someone’s quality of life.

As for me, I genuinely enjoy the lifestyle. I love training, eating clean, and even embracing the challenge of dieting when I want to lean out. For me, these drugs are simply tools—just like using nitrous oxide in a race car to boost performance. They’re enhancements, not replacements for the passion I have for this lifestyle.

New drugs may come and go, but they don’t change my mindset. I’m not a competitive bodybuilder, and I’m not chasing a specific physique. I’ve been training and eating clean long before using any gear, and I’ll continue doing so because I truly enjoy it. It’s a hobby and a passion, not a means to an end.

But the "inhibitors" did make some people a lot of money.....

Wouldn't it be great if big pharma actually cared about improving people's lives? Then maybe they'd cut all the funding that was used to make people not be hangry and do something like...curing cancer or other horrible diseases that can't be cured by people moving a little more and eating a little less?

This, not a reputable source imo.

The first time I ever heard anyone mention Semaglutide and how GLP-1’s will be changing the game was 2020. We were hanging with Mike and his friends in July at his house and he started the conversation about it. He looked at me wide eyed with that “BRO! Just wait! You’ll see.”

He was dead on.

His videos can be hyperbolic, but he probably isn’t far off from reality.
