I liked the conversation he had about arm sizes, and the various pros that stayed with him. Wonder if anyone here knows Ed personally and has any stories?

Don’t know him personally, but have heard him being interviewed on several podcasts and he seems genuine, not full of himself. Plus, he was a hell of a businessman which allowed him to help those less fortunate with no ulterior motives. I think he’s the real deal and a lot of bodybuilders during that era speak very highly of him and how much of their success they owe to him and his generosity.

All of which are as rare as sabertooth tigers in New York City.

Agreed! Asking strangers to come stay with him to help their careers makes for one hell of a man. Most people nowadays won't even associate with another person unless it benefits them in someway.

Alfresco, please help me out as I'm a little confused. Good people who help others with no ulterior motives are rare or the bodybuilders who speak highly of Ed Connors are rare? I've read a lot of the jokes over the years about him and he housed lots of pros for short stays early in their careers and of course certain things were implied but that was as far it went. Not saying it's right but unfortunately, I think that kind of thing that was being implied has gone on in bodybuilding since its inception and will continue and it happens in almost all professions.
