Love all the old stuff that are the roots of modern rock and blues - just resurrecting those few meager guitar skills from long, long ago...

What kind of guitar did you get? I have had many over the years right now I have a high end Ibanez for my electric not my favorite brand but the neck is fast and accurate. My acoustic is a Segull SM-6 which is just a great guitar have had since 1994. I still miss my Gibson Les Paul, never should have sold it, it was an original 1978 too.

yeah i know im not old old but sometimes feel it when on this board lol yeah dont know much about akon but guitar sounded pretty good! dad as far as the blues that you mentioned i completely agree the only reason i mentioned maiden and stones etc was i thought no one would be into the older music i love such as buddy guy robert johnson cray clapton etc but im thinking what came from the older stuff influenced me more like peter green of fleetwood mack and obviously rolling stones and such. so no stratocaster fans ? i know not the most popular these days but love the blues sound and feel, if money werent an object i would love a les paul gibson also for when playing some stuff. wow wasnt sure many of us muscle heads would be into playing guitar for some reason(stupid of me realy as i am) not into all the shreading these days more the tasteful stuff realy,but yeah its all good

I play as well and have a great affinity for all genres of music. I love SRV, Buddy Guy, but also listen to bands like Protest The Hero, Bullet For My Valentine, etc.

I am still on a crappy Fender Strat knock off, but I have upgraded my amp to a Marshall MG250. It a 2x12, solid state. Tube sounds so good, but man its expensive. I also have a Yamaha acoustic, but it doesn't see much use these days.

I've never had any lessons, I'm self taught, but I think I'm halfway decent. I can play along with some popular songs and I've written one myself.

I'm sure you already know about this site but I get email from them with deals all the time and they have pretty good stuff.
