New gym in Calgary AB...

There is a new owner in the Ironworks gym now...It will be awesome, quite hardcore, heavy music ,all steel plates, 150 lb dumbells and great fellas running it...
If you are in the Calgary are check it out....I f you are tired of the rubber weight type gyms...

Tell the big 300 lb owner ironwill sent ya....
I have no stake in this gym, but i do have a lot of respect for the owner..
I just wanted to throw this out there for anyone interested...

Yes, it is the old DP location. The name on the outside of the building is "Ironworks" right now but may be changing soon... TBA!

It will be chalk friendly, have 150lb dumbells, some strongman implements, PLing gear (chains, boards, boxes, etc.) and a good variety of BBers, strength athletes, and average people that want to change from what they are to something better. It's older equipment (all in good working condition, just oldish looking), steel plates and the amount of cardio equipment (read: treadmills, elipticals, steppers, and bikes) is limited (but we all know that high rep squatting is the real cardio workout anyways).

Anyone with a chip on their shoulder or attitude problem need not apply. Sorry, that's just the way it is...

Definitely do that JT....Anytime, it would be a pleasure , we can check out the hardcore atmosphere of Aladdins gym, i think thats a funky name BTW.., and then go out for a meal...Countrychic and lynx can kick our butts in the gym, then they can buy us Lunch...
My good looking woman would be in awe at your flowing magnificent hair and My dog would be sniffin at your plate trying to sneak your steak, so it will just be me and my mind boggling conversation to entertain you guys...lol,
BTW, I dont speak in tongues anymore, i had that resolved....lol

That gym sounds rad! Just about every member on here has trained at a hardcore gym like Ironworks and it really motivated or even changed them. The problem lies in that there are very few gyms like this anymore and most of us train at a gym right next to soccer moms. The hardest part of my workout is trying to get that "do of die" mentality in a 24hr fitness gym. You're lucky to have a place like that.

Fortunately I've been ultra-poor before and I don't have huge debt or living expenses so I should be okay to take a pittance for a salary for the first year and be used to it.

Now... I believe if you have access to a gym like mine, you go. I'd say the limit is about 45mins each way (as in, if you have to drive for longer than 45 mins to get there then its too far, but under 45 mins and there is no excuse for you NOT to be there). Would you all agree?
