Bodybuilders undergo 'lie' tests

Contestants took the tests to hep root out steroid abuse
Bodybuilders at a national championship event have undergone mandatory lie detector tests in a bid to restore the sport's tarnished reputation.
The federation which runs the sport is determined to eliminate the use of steroids and other banned substances.

Each competitor in the British Natural Bodybuilding Championships in Edinburgh has taken a lie detector test.

The winners of the contest will still have to take conventional drug tests and there will also be random sampling.

Organisers and competitors said the lie detector tests proved that the issue of drug abuse and cheating was being taken seriously.

this isnt new their are two natural organizations that have been doing this for years.

While I am all for natural BB restoring it's reputation.....To me BB is about overcoming obstacles, daily and long term. In return this builds character and the ability to change not only your physical state but your mental and emotional state as well. I think the test is a little inappropriate in almost all situations...with that being said I'm curious what kind of time frame the test is based on and if someone had taken AAS in the past, would they be allowed to compete in a natural contest after a certain period of time.

A number of years ago I was the victim of a false "positive" on a lie detector test. Was a contest where you had to be only natural for a year prior to the show. The irony was that I placed 1st in my class. Notified at the evening show by the head judge just prior to walking on stage, I made no fuss, and politely drove home. But surely I have never forgotten nor ever will forget. So I guess you know what I think of lie detector tests!

I did a natural show about 4yrs ago(pacific usa naturals) and they required a lie detector test. Such bullshit. Cord wraped around my chest and a finger clamp on. 3 ? asked
Have you ever used any AAS within the past year

I really didnt but could have easily passed if i did, plus there were needles in the trash can in the bathroom, guys with fresh inject marks,etc... there are no natural shows.
