Hey everyone. I've been doing a lot more stuff lately with my ACL rehab and one of the exercises I was just taught by PT may be helpful for some of you guys.
The hardest part at this point in the rehab is getting my quad muscles to fire and contract hard.
So what they had me do this week was put a band on my bad leg right on the knee, like you step inside it. The band is tied to a pole or whatever. Then you stand feet a little inside shoulder width and bend the knee with the band on it ever so slightly. You don't want your heel to come off the ground.
Next you straighten your leg and flex your quad against the band and hold it for a three count. Now, the bands I'm using are pretty wimpy at the moment, but I bet if you put some of those heavy bands on like people are using for bench and squats etc it would be enough resistance to make this worthwhile.
Because heres the thing: It works almost exclusively the teardrop. It may not be much of a mass builder, but I feel it could help bring out some separation or bring up the tear drop if used as a finisher.
