New Roelly Winklaar 720lb. Squat Video

Impressive. It didn't look to heavy for him. Hopefully he isn't tearing up his body lifting like that.

It's great to see some of these guys from Kuwait demonstrate some strength.

Yeah buddy!

Good form, strong as fuck!

Very impressive.

This is even more impressive considering Winklaar is 41. Ronnie Coleman was in his late 30s when he did the famous 800lb. squat for 2.

And it's just really cool to see pros lifting crazy impressive weights like this, we don't see it often.

First thing I thought of was RONNIE COLEMAN. That will take its toll one day if not careful.

Agreed...why I posted the comparison.
Here's another one.

Yep, me too. I was thinking that. Heck, I used to only squat about 495 lbs for a set of 8 reps and I feel like it really messed up my back now more than 10 years later. I feel like I am paying for now what I did back then and I lifted not near that kind of weight. I will turn 50 next year.

Very impressive. Looks like light weight going up and down. I kind of worried when I first saw this and his right leg kind of wiggled a little bit.

At his level this is unnecessary and incredibly dangerous! Ronnie’s back issue hell started with that heavy squat for 2 reps. And there’s Fux who had both knees fold backward from squatting like that. Good way to end a career.

I wonder if he squats like that weeky or every now and again?

Looks like he stays very upright, spotter keeps him from falling back. My guess would be to take stress off his back. Very impressive and cool high bar squat!

I agree. When I was squatting heavy for me, I usually didn't go below 5 or 6 reps. How many did he do here? It looked like he could have managed that many maybe. Keeping the reps above 5 or 6 is important I think, but it still gets heavy on the joints. I suppose for bodybuilding it probably isn't necessary to go below 8 or 10 is it?

If you are natural, I would say yes, otherwise, no.

Taking steroids doesn't make the joints any stronger though. The muscles can handle more but it puts that much more unnatural stress on the joints. Some big time powerlifters end up with bad lower backs and hip replacements before they even turn 50.
