Ronnie talking about life and his career.

Happiest guy in the world

X rays of his neck, back and hips might cast some doubt over that statement, but there he is smiling and laughing, I wish him all the best.
Apart from the obvious health issues, does anyone know if he´s doing ok financially? All those surgeries must have decimated his bank account.

I saw a similar interview with Ronnie on that Valuetainment podcast on Youtube (can't remember the name of the guy who hosts that). But he evidently did a little research and made a statement that Ronnie's supplement company...Ronnie Coleman Signature Series...grossed $15 million last year. Not sure what Ronnie's cut of that was/is but he said he was doing pretty good financially...but who knows!

Ronnie . . . I have watched or listened to about all since his retirement because this
is when you really find out what kind of person he and most bodybuilders are. Before
that, it is all marketing baby. My opinion.

With one exception (below), every video interview since his retirement and subsequent
surgeries, he has had this 'thousand yard stare' and a bit fumbling for words and he
does not come off as the most articulate person in the room in my opinion. (I am
not in a position to speculate as to why.)

But make no mistake; Ronnie is a very smart person. (You can forget about intelligence
in the gym; we all have different motivations, tolerances, goals, egos, etc.) He just
comes across in a way that belies his underlying intelligence at least in most(?) videos
after his his retirement. I will not speculate on the why's and wherefores but he has
sounded better and looked better.

The best interview I have ever heard with Ronnie is with Joe Rogan, #1489, June 10, 2020.
I listened to it on a long distance hike in Yosemite National Park with my wife back in
September and it made the miles just evaporate under my feat. Even listened to it twice.

It covers all the aspects of his life. It was very refreshing and enlightening and he goes to
great lengths to highlight the importance of great, world-class genetics for success in this
sport which he admits many times, that he has and which credits his success to.

If you haven't, it is worth a listen in my humble opinion.

He's pretty doped up on pain medications

He's mentioned several hundred mgs of opioids to keep the pain tolerable, Hope his pain specialists are keeping a close eye on that; a bad and dark road addiction can be.

Peter McGough said the same thing you mentioned in Ronnie's documentary; that casual laid back Southern approach to life makes people think of Ronnie as a simpleton, and he's far from that

X rays of his neck, back and hips might cast some doubt over that statement, but there he is smiling and laughing, I wish him all the best.

I think his attitude towards things more than anything else. He's admitted to being paralyzed for life now on a podcast recently, but it doesn't seem to keep the guy down. God knows how most of us would feel in that predicament

He's honestly a very different sounding Ronnie than the one we 'grew up' on. You can tell his line of thinking isn't the greatest. It honestly kinda hurts to see newer videos of him. Once the best and one of the strongest bodybuilders that ever lived, now can't live life without copious pain meds. Imagine it must be like how fans of Ali watched him develop Parkinsons.

Sorry for being a downer...
