New training program

Hate to be a buzzkill, but any program that makes you lift more weight than you did last week safely and in your preferred style is probably going to be the best for you.

If course progressive overload is a must. I'm just trying to decide what way to go about it...more volume, more frequency, less, etc.
 
try some GVT, alternating EOD with FST7..first and
last Monday of the month SSFT, don't forget to use your
MD bands on your ides of the week. and don't step in
any DOGGCRAP, this with raise your cortisol and give you
euphoria, not good for your CNS.....back in Y2K i tried CMT
gave me IBS with a little RLS

Honestly though...I would love your opinion on Yates' training philosophy, you obviously know a thing or two about training.

I really love the all out intensity of it, and the heavier weights. Do you feel that even at such low volume and frequency it is still a solid plan for growth?
 
intensity will make ANY program.....a success.

and yates loads and unloads HIS OWN WEIGHTS..!!!!!:lightbulb:

Yea I've always enjoyed listening to him speak about training and nutrition...and his wild ass workout partner screaming "Let's get NASTY Yates" over and over again in Blood and Guts.

Yup, I have an old flex magazine where he lays out the routine for size in the offseason' nothing exotic, just a few big basic exercises for each body part for 1 set to failure, simple an easy to implement but who wants simple tho?

What about an alternating program? To get the best of everything...something like:

WEEK 1: HST
WEEK 2: GVT
WEEK 3: FST-7
REPEAT
 
Figure out a split where you can double up your two worst body parts and toss in your best on the day your training will likely suffer due to schedule etc.

Everyone has different needs. It doesn't need to be complicated.

everyone is different, you made your own plan , adjust it from time to time
Just write up your own on what suits your body best. You know your body better than anyone.
