New'er bathroom shot of conditioning:

Sick conditioning brother, would def love to be that shredded!

Your conditioning is great. It's good to see someone make a mature decision to scale back their mass a bit in order to feel better. I see so many guys that have a great physique around your size, then decide they'd rather gain 6%bf in order to hold another 15lbs of lbm. IMO, being fit and happy is better than being huge. (Although there's no excuse for being skinny. Gross.)

I'm unsure of bf% here, but I'm 199lbs 5'9" in this. This past year have I been really focused on maintenance over making any type of LBM gains. My goal really is just to stay lean and below but near 200lbs. In the past I would maintain 220+/- and I just never felt right at that weight. I'm much more healthier and fit feeling around 200lbs. Right now I'm taking a break though all this month until Jan so I can enjoy the holiday food :)
Anyway figured I would share, thanks guys.

Very impressive dave!!!

Whatever you are doing man, stick with it. I completely empathize about just maintaining and being healthier and feeling better. I push the scale every time and feel horrible and end up backing down.

Again man, great balance of size and conditioning

Always lookin good!

You look brilliant!

Nice view regarding being athletic/at a weight you feel comfortable.

Your level of conditioning is fantastic!

Thanks for my first 10 years I never thought like this, but the last couple I have been much more concerned with general health and "feeling fit". I know as a "big" guy jogging for long distance on the beach for example was always out of the questions, and my current weight it's no problem to go. You have to swallow your pride some times and not worry about being as big as possible but just the best you, that you can be.

On some, great conditioning trumps actual size because it creates the illusion of size which seems to be the case for you. Your hard work is apparent. Good job!

I agree with the visual Illusion, most think Im 220-230+ from a glance but a smaller waist to hip/chest/shoulder ratio creates the Illusion. Waist is 29" now anything past 32" and I notice I look much worse overall in terms of "size" even if I technically have more LBM on.

I hit shoulders fairly hard each week. I usually start off with heavy smith presses maybe 4 plates x 3 sets to failure, and a strip set at the end. I usually will move to a shoulder plate loaded machine and use the stack with a spotter applying counter resistance the last 30-40% of the range when locking out.

From there I love doing seated lateral raises, if your feet are planted in front of you well you can go very heavy and use your lower back to shift your body weight back/fourth to assist the movement. I love doing drop sets on these also. On set 3 I may do 55s to failure, 45s to failure, and finish up with 35's.
I also always use drop sets on rear delts and usually pick 2 exercises.

wow almost exactly what I'm doing now... pleased to hear that. Ok just because I'm anally retentive do you prefer the smith presses with the seat completely vertical or a slight lean back?

Any chance of a wheel pic?

With Smith I like to focus on lock out, so I take it to my chin and back up the angle is close to 90* but up to 110*. Just make sure most of the stress is on the shoulders.

Legs I don't train so much for personal reasons, mainly 2 slipped disc that seem to get in the way of most exercises so they are all isolation:

Thanks Dave well the wheels certainly aren't far behind. Would be sick I'd imagine if you could actually squat. I assume you disagree that leg extensions then are a waste of time?

I have it more of a 110* angle over 90*. I like to take the bar to my chin and stay heavy on smith presses.

Awesome conditioning. IS it hard to maintain this look year round?

Dave would you attribute your delt fullness to presses or lateral raises bud?

Probably both I start off with heavy compound 3 sets 2 exercises usually low reps/heavy weight. After I move on to lateral raises in seated position so I can swing back/fourth to cheat.

Man you look bloody crazy. Thats awesome man. its all about having the physique you want yourself. If thats how ya feel comfortable then so be it man. You make 199lbs look big! Keep it up bro
