I joined a new gym and they have alot of this...

Machines where your body elevates when you push or pull. It feels kinda unnatural. Does it account for your bodyweight in the lift? Seems complicated to track progress for people who cut and want to make sure you maintain strength.
Anyone like this new style equipment or prefer old school hammer machines and cables?
It seems like in general more bodybuilder are using machines.
Not sure if this is good/bad for hypertrophy and prevention of injury and imbalances.
