Nick Walker/Derek Lunsford tied at the Pittsburgh Pro?

This takes us back to your original stupid post that started all this. You clearly don’t understand classic physique. Lol

When you have the trophies and accomplishments in this sport that I do feel free to critique me. Until then go join a low level BJJ board.

Keep arguing with yourself. I know you love the attention. But I’m out. You’ve wasted enough time of the vets here over the last months with your delusional rants.

I’m sure you will respond to this with another winded reply, but what you’ve failed to get is that I’m going along because I find this comical. You’re taking it literal. You’re not one of the guys any of us take serious here. But keep on trying. 👍🏼

Oh no… Men in Speedos on the internet won’t take me serious?

How will I sleep tonight?

I want no part of this little back and forth but I do 💯% agree with the above statement.
Yeah I didn’t even catch this originally. Bringing his wife nationality into it seems kind of strange, maybe borderline discriminatory. Just a weird way to phrase it honestly

Discriminatory? 😂 Columbian women are some of the most attractive people in the world. You must not get out much. If anything it was compliment.

If guys don’t want things referenced on here then maybe they shouldn’t insert it into multiple post of theirs to make it known.

I find it comical that’s what you or anyone here has a problem with, not the fact that the guy made it personal from the start and has done nothing but insult this sport and many people on this very forum.

If that’s what any of you want this place to be then have at it and feel free to count me out as it’s not the Professional Muscle that I’ve known for the last decade plus.

I always wonder how these internet keyboard wars would go if in person.

Would the mma guy give respect that the bodybuilder actually is pretty darn big? Would the bodybuilder give respect the smaller mma guy could choke him out?

Respect is due both in regards to the high achievements in their respective disciplines.

Hey bros, let's have a cig break, no? Love you both 🤝

I broke my own rule and made some things personal and for that I apologize. Things here tend to stay pretty civil if we keep it that way and keep the focus on bodybuilding which is what this forum is about. 👍🏼

I have much respect for anyone who does fighting and MMA. I grew up in wrestling and went on to do other styles in my 20’s. I just don’t discuss it as most fighters don’t go out of there way to talk about it, especially not on a bodybuilding forum.

All good on my end.

If I recall correctly Ronnie wasn’t having any distention issues until like 05-06?? For the vast majority of his competitive career he was massive with a pretty tight waist..

I understand the explanation behind it, why it’s happening etc, but why is it normalized? I’m glad they’re penalizing for it in competitions but these competitors need to dial it back and get with the program, it’s an extremely uphill battle being an Open competitor now a days in terms of making a living in BBing because no one cares anymore about the category because there’s no one to look up to, the physiques are horrendous.

You’ve got guys like Beef Stu (and I’m not trying to talk shit here, he was open in his thread about it) who are absolute killers with great physiques in the Open who are budgeting their groceries!

Meanwhile there’s guys left and right who wouldn’t make top 10 at a national show in Classic who are making multiple 6 figures on IG 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s one big fat race to the bottom..
Curious what you think the waist in open should look like? What terrible waist are we seeing currently beyond Nick, who ISNT “acceptable” as he is indeed penalized? I wouldn’t say it’s currently normalized to have a gut on stage really but it’s totally possible we just have different standards

Thank you for the compliment then, she is beautiful and my favorite person, but let’s not pretend you weren’t trying to take a jab as she had nothing to do with the conversation. I’ve only ever talked about her on a thread that the subject was about her country and to YOU in PRIVATE DM’s..

You can also stop playing the victim, you know what you did and I know what I did too.

We don’t have to like each other.. I promise you, I don’t care..

From now on, just go your way and I’ll go my way on here.. I’ll never engage you again, and if you see something from me, just don’t engage me either..

Simple 🤝🏻

Guys, I really dont think he meant anything racial by the Columbian comment, it was in reference to him describing his wife as Columbian. Everyone relax.

Until I became a mod I used the ignore key . . . a lot . . . the list of people was very very long. It helped me keep what little sanity I had left 😉

Well, if I’m being honest and I had full control of the scene, bodybuilding to me would be the Classic division.. That’s what bodybuilding was for a long time, it’s an art, the lines, the symmetry, the posing etc..

But I’m open..

That being said, there’s definitely a spectrum, now I haven’t followed the sport for a long time, and there’s definitely some variety in the names I’m about to mention but most of them are not from this era..

Lee Haney - is almost a perfect example

Dorian Yates - not necessarily small waisted but still had great, granite physique that brought the freak factor but still always tight mid section in comps.

Flex Wheeler - Another perfect example

Ronnie Coleman - in his earlier reign, say 98-2002ish?

Nasser - He really brought an amazing physique in 97 I believe it was?? The one where people thought he got robbed..

Kevin Levrone - Great Physique all around

Victor Martinez - his 2007 (?) physique, another great example..

Paul Dillet - Insanely huge with still a very tight waist.

I think these guys, and a lot on their era were nailing it almost perfectly between being freakish size but still maintaining your lines and symmetry..

Most guys now just look like a big block of muscle mass to me.. If there’s anyone in today’s era worth putting in the conversation with the above, I’m admittedly not aware as I don’t follow the sport so closely..

I’m sorry I know I said I’d drop it but you had to look up who Derek Lundsford, Big Ramy, Samson Daudi, Brandon Curry were?

Honest to God, I had no idea Derek ever even won the Mr.O

I completely forgot Curry even existed

I had no idea who Samson was until I googled him earlier

I had heard about Ramy and Hadi when they won before but couldn’t tell you what years or how many times..

I’m dead serious when I say I’m a casual fan… It’s just honestly, none of the physiques from this era are anything to write home about for me..

It’s been year after year that there’s talk about these guys here on the forum, they’ll post amazing (edited?) pictures of themselves 3 weeks out, and then on show day they show up looking like a bloated, blurred out mess.. Which has also been a discussion had on here multiple times.

That’s been most of the time over the years.. Then I just stopped caring years ago and didn’t bother to follow it..

If you have no idea who some of the best BB in recent years are, how can you generalize and say that open bodybuilders have a big gut? Take 1 min and watch the top 6 call out of MR. O 2024 and then let me know who has a big gut.

I agree that classic physique competitors have a more aesthetic look. But that's why they are classic and have a weight cap. Open bodybuilding is more about muscularity, either you like or not. Open BB are the freaks, classic is what most think is atttainable (think.. in reality it is not).

The fact that today there are more divisions also limit the number of more aesthetic bodybuilders to work hard for 10+ years to reach the size of a open when they can "comfortably" compete in men's physique or classic physique without the need to eat 7k calories, blast more gear and carry over 120kg year round.

man with all due respect but why talk about something that you are not interested in at all and you don't even follow it, it's stupid at best

Okay then I mean it doesn’t really seem like you follow much of bodybuilding at all?

I know the definition of “casual fan” is open to interpretation but bro if you didn’t even know who Derek lundsford or big ramy were then you’re just not.

So putting aside that a lot of cases here are genetic structure and nothing to do with gut control, my question was how is having a gut normalized/accepted now? We see Nick struggling with it and he’s being knocked for it.

Not to mention I’m not sure how you can make much of a statement about todays athletes considering you clearly don’t even follow the sport?

Well, to be fair, I am on professional muscle and just because I don’t know their names or follow them doesn’t mean I don’t see the threads that pop up here at least once a month talking about the “bubble gut”, if it wasn’t a thing, why are we still talking about it in 2025??

man with all due respect but why talk about something that you are not interested in at all and you don't even follow it, it's stupid at best

Why is it stupid? I followed it before, I was a fan before. I stopped being a fan when it stopped being exciting, when blown out waists became the norm.. Did Arnold not come out during his own competition a few years ago condemning where the open bodybuilding division is going??

Do YOU not constantly talk about your competitors and the need to put on size but keep the waists tight?

Actually, haven’t you had a few competitors that you’ve had to go through the process of actually getting their waist down because it was getting too out of control??

Correct me if I’m wrong here..

But again, just because I’m not a super fan doesn’t mean I don’t see what’s going on, on IG, on this forum, what’s being talked about etc..
Okay then I mean it doesn’t really seem like you follow much of bodybuilding at all?

I know the definition of “casual fan” is open to interpretation but bro if you didn’t even know who Derek lundsford or big ramy were then you’re just not.

I didn’t say I didn’t know who Big Ramy was, I said I had seen when he won but couldn’t tell you the year or how many times he won..

I was very aware of him during his come up, when he was 340lbs offseason and everyone was hyped on him.. When he was out in Kuwait I believe, putting on a lb of muscle a minute and everyone was hyped on him..

And he would show up to competition and look like shit time and time again.. He would constantly switch coaches if I recall correctly, just couldn’t get dialed in for years??

Yea, I stopped caring somewhere around those years..

Derek, yea I had no idea he won in 2023..

Sooo those guys above are all genetic structure and not gut control? It’s not that some of them still found a way to get huge and freaky but still maintain their mid section?

Because a few of them ended up losing that tight mid section as they went on competing.

And as I said above;

Didn’t Arnold come out at his own competition just a few years ago condemning the “bubble gut” and where the open division was going?

You can literally search on this site;

“Bubble Gut”
“Distention”
“Gut Control”
“Turtle shell gut”

I mean the list is looooooong, and you’ll see the hundreds of threads on here that pop up regularly on this issue..

Am I wrong to assume that if these threads and discussions are still coming up then it’s obviously still happening?

Did you not see the NY Pro results just yesterday and I’m sorry, maybe my vision is off but both Nick and Bonac’s waist look super wide and blown out, Bonac was completely bloated and his waist looked just as big as Nick’s??

Would you like me to take some time today and look through the major comps over the last 5 years or so, O, Arnold and NY Pro seem to be the top 3, and make a list for you of all the guys who seem to have blown out waists??

Your questions are fair, but again, I see the issue being brought up on this very forum constantly, I don’t think I need to follow the sport to a T myself to see what’s going on when it’s posted on here all the time.. But if you’d like, I have no problem doing the research myself..

Maybe it’s less of an issue now than I think it is and it’s been tightened up significantly since Arnold came forward about it..
